Use Trees to Create Special Spaces in Your Garden

Having a garden is a wonderful thing. It provides you with the opportunity to spend time together as a family enjoying what nature has to offer.

There is a lot that you can do with this space, especially now that firms like The Tree Center provide you with the opportunity to order any tree you like and plant it in your garden. They have trees that are suitable for any type of garden.

With this in mind, I thought I would take a look at the different ways you can use trees and hedges to create special spaces in your garden. Below are my favorite ideas. Most of them are really simple to implement, so if you like one of them don’t hold back, give it a try.

Create somewhere for your kids to play

It is important to provide your children with somewhere to play and relax. You can easily use a corner of your garden where they can kick a ball around without having to worry about it ending up in the flowerbeds or breaking something. Using hedging trees, it is really easy to screen off a section for them to play in. Just be sure to choose a variety that has branches at the very base. This will stop balls from slipping through the trunks into other areas of the garden.

Create an outdoor lounge or dining space

Using the same method, you can create a private space for you and other family members. Potentially, you can create an outdoor lounge or dining area.

When deciding where to locate this type of screening, try to think about where the sun will be at the time of day you are planning to use it. If you are going to be mainly using it in the evenings, try to plant the trees so that the side of the enclosure that is open has the sun shining in. This will ensure that the hedged in enclosure stays warm for longer so you can get more use out of it.

Create a dedicated space for wildlife

If your garden is too big for you to easily maintain, you can use trees to shorten it. Potentially, the space behind the trees can be left to grow wild, which will provide a habitat that can help wildlife to thrive. To ensure that this works as well as possible, make sure you get good quality trees from a reliable vendor. That is going to make a huge difference.

Alternatively, you can set up a vegetable garden in that space. That way it will be hidden from general view, enabling you to maintain a crisp modern look for the rest of your garden.

Build a willow dome

By far my favorite idea is creating a willow dome or tunnel. It is a wonderful shady space to sit on a sunny day. Being virtually surrounded by green foliage is a fantastic way to soak up the beauty of nature. This project is actually not hard to implement, as you can see from this how-to article. That article also explains how you can use these wonderful super fast growing trees to create living chairs.

It really helps to have trees, they add shade and there is so much you can add to make your yard so relaxing to be in.
