My Perfect Pitch

What I felt like yesterday.  Before...
I have heard of making pitches to company's for products to review and also taking surveys to be approved for different products to review but, I had never done a pitch on my own. I thought it was going to be the easiest thing ever until I tried to just write it.

It's not a letter to a family member or friend I have known for years and I really wanted to sound professional without sounding like a robot or a script. I don't need critics. I'm going to keep proofing my own work and I am a nightmare to please. HAHAHA.  I finally got the 2 biggest issues taken care of  (starting it and sending it) and am already seeing results.

I made my first company "pitch" yesterday and I was so excited about it after I hit the send button. I was nervous and reread it at least 100 times. I made Aron and my sister read it too, I just wanted to make sure it was perfect.

The last thing I wanted to do is sound like I didn't know what I was talking about. There are so many great resources out there to help make sure you really get it together. I am proud to say of the 20, YES, 20, I sent out, I have already heard back from 2!!!!

The first one the woman was no longer with the company I pitched to but, still offered to let me work on upcoming campaigns with her new company and the second one was a yes. I was told ahead of time that to expect 1 yes for every 10 no's.

I got my 2 yeses out of the way upfront. I'm so happy with that because I would have cried if I got the no's first. I want to share a few of the resources I used to help me get my pitch together. I am saving them forever because, for me, I made the perfect pitch. My voice was heard and I am so proud.
  • A sample pitch to get the idea of what it should look like in front of me.
  • A greeting to sound professional but not too formal.
  • Picking the perfect item there is no link for me to connect to. I think that may have taken me longer to do since I have the bad habit of window shopping. All of the company's I pitched to had a very long list of products I would buy if I were in the market. I have to be careful because I tend to buy things and then find a use for them later on.
  • My offer if I were to be offered a product, everything I am willing to do in return for the product review. That is also in the sample pitch.
  • In closing, you want to make sure your contact info is good.
  • The hardest part of the whole pitch comes now... CLICK SEND
Although the whole email only consisted of 200 words or less, that was the most time involved email I have ever written. I am proud of the end result but don't know how I would have gotten through it without the help.

After I hit send
