Thanksgiving...

Me and my girls
Abby and Cassie

Thanksgiving...Thanks for giving... Thanks for receiving... Thanks for my blessings, my friendship, my health, wealth or lack thereof, love, commitments, obligations, shortcomings, long lasting's, and even my pieces that are broken. Thanks for all of the things in my life that have to lead up to now, this second, for making me the amazing human being I am and try to be every day.

Me and my nephew Sammy

Thanksgiving has always been a family feast where we all try to get together and share a meal and be thankful for the time we have with each other.

But it's way more than that.

With every moment you look around you can see someone where you were or will be. The toddlers running around, at one time I was one, running my mom's legs off saying no to bite bites. The mommy doing the chasing. The adolescent child trying to do my best to please everyone, do you need a drink or a napkin. The mom to that aged child saying a thousand times, please sit down and eat, please play nicely, please don't fight with your sister. The teenager with a friend, that's a boy, over for holiday dinner. The mom of that aged child thinking, WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE!!!

3 generations
Abby, Me, Mom, and Cassie
Thinking ahead to the next generation, Mom. Bringing desserts and watching all of us. The woman that started the whole thing. What does she think when she looks at the bunch of us. Me and my sister, moms ourselves, then our babies, then the new friendships and where they may head. What part of her life does she remember looking at all of us?

This isn't just Thanksgiving, this is making memories, we were all here together. We all shared this Thanksgiving together but relived half a century of memories in one meal. Thanksgiving is being thankful for what I've been given, and what I am giving. I love you all so very much.
