I am going to start with a little bit of history on Vanilla. I received a booklet along with some news letters with my bottle of Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Extract. I did not know there are so many facts on vanilla. The most interesting to me are one, that the vanilla was kept a secret by the Totonaco Indians and was not shared until they were defeated by the Aztecs. They demanded the fruits of the Tlilxochitl vine, vanilla pods. The second fascinating fact, Vanilla plants are orchids. They are the only orchid to produce an edible fruit. That brings a whole new meaning to beautifully delicious.
Nielsen Massey has been in business since 1907. That is over a century of perfection. I am so impressed with this quality of Vanilla. I have always used a a specific brand of pure vanilla extract, I honestly can not believe the difference in quality. In our family we do a lot of cooking. My mom had her special candies and cookies, my sister with her most amazing cakes, we really tried this in everything. I don't know that I will ever be able to use another Vanilla Extract on my special occasions ever again.
There are so many vanilla products. I want to try them all. Pure Vanilla Powder, Pure Vanilla Paste, Pure Ground Vanilla Bean Powder, Pure Vanilla Sugar, and Exhausted Vanilla Bean Specks.

I absolutely LOVE this vanilla and I refuse to have anything other kind in my cupboard! It is one of the few expensive items that I will buy, because there's just no substitute. Awesome review-- and all the history of vanilla is interesting-- I had no idea!
