So, Who is on the coffee life line? I am seriously thinking about to be honest. I usually drink cold drinks but, here lately I have been craving the molten hot lava, dark, creamy, sweet, with a hint of french vanilla deliciousness. That little bit of pep in my step to get my morning going.
I used to drink coffee all of the time, I just don't know what happened. Then recently I was given a chance to review 2 very beautiful machines. A glass French Press by Kitchen Supreme and a Stainless Steel French Press by Francois et Mimi. I was going to review them separately but I decided to do them together to show off both of their amazing qualities and unique differences.
I have never had a French Press before and now I have 2, I feel so lucky!! Since I had never used one before, I used youtube to figure out how to use it. They are both the same concept. They are so awesome and easy to work.
I would have never guessed to heat the glass first. That makes total sense though. It isn't an electric, there is no way to heat it up except hot water. Pour boiling water into the press and let it sit for just a few minutes then empty.
Add the desired amount of ground coffee. Keep in mind that the size of the ground and the length of time the grounds are left in the water does impact the flavor of the coffee. Take the plunger and push down until you have moved through the coffee and pushed it all the way to the bottom. That brings the flavor out of the grounds. Then pour the coffee out into a decanter, if not drinking right away. If the coffee is left in the pot too long, it will turn bitter.
The Glass Press Bundle by Kitchen Supreme is 34 oz and came with the spoons and extra screens. The 2 spoons, one for measuring coffee and the other for sugar, honey for what else I needed to use. That makes 8 small cups or 4 mugs of coffee.
The Francois et Mimi Vintage Double Wall French Press just looks so cool. The thick container keeps the coffee hot longer, has a dribble free spout and also hold 34oz of liquid.
I love both of these and use them all of the time. I highly recommend both of these. I received them for free in exchange of an honest, unbiased review.
