Riding by Cassia Cassitas is a series of short stories that all flow together seamlessly. It's about the Olympics from 1983-2012, with a series of different characters. More like a self-help type book than anything. Stories of perseverence, and dedication.
The stories are based all over the world, with enough description to make you feel like you're right there, and can feel what each character is feeling, and experiencing. I like a book that makes me feel like I've taken a vacation and never left my chair.
This is much more than a book about athletes,it's a book about what it takes to make a success of whatever you're doing. One of my favorite quotes from the book is "Life is like riding a bike. To keep your balance you have to keep moving forward." Great words to live by.
Determination is the key to success at whatever you're doing, even if you're not an Olympic competitor. This is good reading.
