We live in a very rural area. hat doesn't mean that crime doesn't happen here. I wish it did. Years ago it was like that. It was a huge shock for a break in. Not any more. It seems like the crimes are getting closer to home. We don't have much but what we have is ours and I don't want some ass hole taking it.
Our house was robbed a few years ago. We didn't lose much but, the fear of "What if they come back?" has stuck with me. What we lost financially didn't compare to what we lost emotionally. Being home should be comfortable to me. It should be my "happy and safe from the world and all of the bad things in it" place. This should not be the "Is that someone here" "Did you hear that" Why are the dogs barking" kind of place. In the hunt for my secure feeling, we made some home improvements that have really helped.
We have security cameras outside that let us know who is here. They are set to record on motion so if anyone comes up here that's not supposed to or leaves with anything that's not theirs, we will have that recorded. I can pull it up on my phone. When we are out of town, or in town, or any where, I can see it on the app on my phone.
We love the living room one most of all. We mess with our little dog Pudge. He is the only sneak thief we have captured on camera so far.
This is a wifi camera so I can see it no matter where I am. I can scan the whole room. It makes traveling so much less stressful for me. I am so happy I have this camera.
It's so funny to say his name when he's standing on the table. I still don't know why he likes to stand on the table while were gone. His ears go straight up and he looks around, it never gets old.
It's also nice to use when we are home and the kids are in the main part of the house and I have to be in a different part of the house or out side, I can still check in on them. There are so many reasons the cameras are beneficial.
For our driveway, we have driveway alarms. Very cool stuff. That's new. It's by 1byOne. I love it!!! We have a gate and that really helps us keep the dogs in and people we don't want in, out. But there is still the neighbors that come up too.
With this awesome system we got 2 motion sensors and one receiver. It's so awesome!! It picks up everything. So far, we have not found anything that wont set it off. That makes me feel so much more comfortable in my own home.
It's battery operated so there is no running cords or making sure that there is an outlet close by because in our driveway, there is none. It works all the way at the bottom with no trouble at all. The range is very surprising. From our gate to the street is about 2 car lengths. It even catches those cars driving by. We put the sensor on our side of the gate so we don't get a ring every time someone drives on the street but, only when they pass our gate.
It doesn't just pick up cars. Our dog Pudge can set it off. I love that. I am so happy I am able to better monitor my home and make it more secure for our family.
