With so much of our lives being online now a days, it's nearly impossible to avoid it. I don't want to stop their growth. They have to learn how to be functioning, safe, and responsible. In the mean time, I am their mother. I am their protector. I will be right here to coach them along.
There are so many different kinds of danger online. It's sad really. Some of my biggest worries are:
- Sexual Predators
- Cyber Bullying
- Stalking
There are so many code words or slang words that kids using and being familiar with them is a good thing. I do understand, I can't do it alone. I don't know all of the tricks. Even with me feeling totally on top of it, there are still things I am not able to keep up with.

He was a 40 year old man!
He even had my friend fooled by his profile. It had nothing but teen friends on his list. He had real pictures of doing things in sports and in school posted. He had an address, he had personal things to post about. He had siblings. He was 100% NOT REAL!
This guy was a predator. What if my friend didn't go and let her daughter go on her own? Knowing, actually knowing the people in their contact list is so important. There still is a thing called "Stranger Danger".
