When you travel, where do you stay? Motel or with family is usually how we go. I recently found out about a really cool thing called Swap-House.com.  How nice would it be to go on vacation or on a business trip and have the comforts of a real home while you are away?

What if you could find someone that wanted to go on vacation at the same time as you for the same amount of time as you? What if you could just stay in their house and them stay in yours? That would be so much easier than booking a room, making sure all of the necessities are packed up. It's just so easy.

I was on Swap-House.com and saw some of the most beautiful houses. This is like being able to sample your dream home. Upon arriving on the Swap-House.com site it' so easy to sign you and your house up ready for the swap.

Finding what you want is pretty simple. Just look for a country, then a city, then browse your options. These houses are all over the world so, don't feel like you are limited by a certain area or region.

One of the houses I see is absolutely amazing.

My home is a three storey, 4 bed house in a stunning location with half a dozen houses close by and 8 kms from the nearest large town which has all amenities and a railway station with regular trains to Rome (2 and a half hour journey). Some of Umbria's most fascinating historic towns are close by - Assisi, Perugia, Gubbio, Spello, Foligno and we are on the border with the region of Le Marche.
Th house is well-equipped, with gpl central heating and a wood-burning stove, which I use during the winter months for cooking although there is a cooker with 5 burner gas hob and large electric oven. There is half an acre of land, detached from the property. There are 3 double bedrooms, plus one with 2 singles (but also used for storage), one full bathroom, one shower room and one separate toilet.

Could you imagine staying there for free!! They would get our place in the mountains with a beautiful view of green. Manual gated drive with motion lights for security. Fenced in acreage perfect for small up to large dogs. 2 large porches, both covered; the first 20x20 screened in and made for entertaining with a pool table, hammock swings, and elliptical. The other a 15x20 with a heavy bag and huge mountain valley view.  Gas Grill and Competition Smoker for the grill master type.

Wow, my place sounds like a great vacation spot! This is so cool. I wonder if people would really want to swap-house with me? This is such an amazing idea.

What do you think? Would you swap-house with someone for free accommodations? That would save so much on a vacation. I know our lodging is over half of our budget. We would be able to stay gone twice as long if we traded hospitality.
