I am not knocking the school system as a whole, it is a great place for kids. The experiences are ones that I would never be able to replicate like class trips, best friends, other non-parent things like passing notes, secret crushes, and girly fights. As far as education goes, my kid isn't made from the same standard cookie cutter that the system has in place.
We deal with an IEP to regulate Cassie's learning and in some ways, she has excelled where in others, she needs a serious breakthrough. She isn't getting the one on one time she needs to accommodate that. Her school is awesome and I do have some guilt about venting about it, I love her teachers, they have been absolutely amazing from the start, I just want more from something that has no more to offer.
While we are on this journey, we have found some really awesome ways to help her at home. We have so many books, apps, and websites that help her. Some kids go to the 7 hours a day and get everything they need out of it. Cassie isn't one of those kids. She needs more.
I had an amazing opportunity to check out the Dacobots- eLearning. This is an amazing online K-6 learning tool with different styles and methods for answering questions.

There are matching, yes and no questions, multiple choice, and even fun stuff like find the clothes that go with the weather. I think this is a fun way to learn and it's so convenient. It's at home and there is no pressure.
Here are some of the grades and lessons.
Kindergarten
Some of the games include Autumn Outfit, Dancing Snowflake, Flower Parts, How Does Frost Form, Galactic Pantry, and Weather Symbols.
3rd Grade
Games that go along with 3rd-grade lessons are learning parts of speech. Learning people places and things and action words.
Games include Nouns, Verbs, The Associative Property, The Commutative Properties, Stress, The Distributive Properties.
5th Grade
The fifth-grade lessons are more advanced than the others and grade appropriate compared to other lessons. This is so much fun. I have been using it with Cassie to accommodate the review. I love stuff like this.
Games for the 5th-grade level include Chaining Mnemonics, The Human Brain, The Dacians, The Romans, The Neuron, The Palace of Thought.
There are rewards in the form of cards to earn cards as accomplishments, It's so cool!!
Education is so important to us. Honestly, the most important. Our goal is with all of our kids that they have the best education available to them. What the school is not giving, we want to supplement. With Dacobots, it's so much easier.
