What Do Your Roses Really Say To The Recipient?

Finding the perfect way to celebrate with someone is a very personal act. When you want someone to know that you are happy, proud, or even sorry, can come with a great deal of stress. For me personally, I like to do it with flowers. For every reason, there is a rose to show it.

To me, there is a great feeling of joy when the flowers are given. It's not just giving a gift, it's making memories. For me it is anyway, I love it when I send someone flowers and they get so happy they cry, roses aren't a cheap choice.

I can thank Aron for that. When we first moved in together, every Friday, he would get me a bouquet of roses on his way home. It was the sweetest thing and it always came as a surprise. He has been disabled for a long time now so the roses are even more of a surprise when I get them. He hasn't driven in almost 7 years but he still finds a way sometimes.

I have always wondered what the proper etiquette is for roses and sending the right ones. I mean, you don't want to send the wrong message while sending a very special gift, right? You want to make sure your intentions are understood. Have you ever received a bouquet of roses and wondered what does it really mean? Have you ever sent a bouquet of roses just thinking it was pretty and the receiver took the gesture for more or less than what it really was?

It would be horrible- in a comical way, to send to black roses to a respective finance or business partner. Could you imagine the look on their faces? What about red or pink to the ex. Those are just very funny scenarios to me.

So, you know me, I have done a lot of research and put together a list of roses and the occasion to send them for. I was surprised at the findings. Well, really the only ones I wasn't shocked on were the obvious red roses and black roses. They all really do have a meaning to their colors.

Red Roses are a symbol of love. I love getting red roses they're so special and beautiful. Some of the reasons you may want to send them to include gifting or decorating for an Anniversary, Valentines Day, Mothers Day, and "I'm sorry for..." are the reasons that come to mind first. These are also a perfect flower for a funeral or other sympathy or get well occasions.

Red roses are a beautiful flower to say, I was thinking about you and wanted to send you something special.

Personally, The red roses say I love you. To the point that no matter who the sender, "I love you" is the message I receive in my brain. That is the message I am sending when I send them. To me, with a bouquet or red roses, I don't even need a card. I am so over joyed with the roses, it wouldn't matter what the card said anyway.

Aron had the sweetest tradition with his mom for Mothers Day. Every year we would go to the local nursery and buy roses for her flower bed and make the day of it. He would dig up the weeds, plant the roses, and she could enjoy them forever. She had the prettiest rose gardens around her porch.

Since we moved, we can't be there on Mothers Day like we would like to so, we send her flowers. Every year it's red roses. Mom's love that stuff (I'm a mom, I know).

White Roses are a symbol of purity and innocence.

Some of the reasons for gifting or decorating with them can be a wedding, graduation, gift for a family member, or a child being born.

White roses are also acceptable for funerals and sympathy.

I will never forget the first time I was sent white roses. I was 19 and had my first daughter. My family lived far away so my grandparents, aunts, and uncles couldn't be here. My grama sent me flowers and I was so excited. For one I had never had flowers delivered to me before, I felt so special. I thought that the day a baby was born was all about the baby. She told me that it was a special day for both of us.

I think white roses are a great addition to any shower. Bridal showers, baby showers, house warming, and any occasion where there is no set color scheme or open color scheme.

Yellow Roses are a fun and friendly rose.

It's a great gift idea for co-workers, siblings, and friends.

They are also a nice flower to send if you want to use the seasonal spring or fall theme. They are really nice for a gender neutral baby shower.

Pink roses are a super sweet and fun kind of rose. In all of the research I have done, it seems like these are the courting/dating rose. These roses are the step after yellow but the step before the red on the romance scale.

Aron and I have been together for almost 10 years now, I love it when he gets me the pink ones. I have them on my desk right now. He is such an awesome guy. He is a man's man but can still create a bouquet better than some of the shops we have been to.

While those are the four main colors that I think of when it comes to roses, there are so many more colors out there. Below is a list of what the colors of the roses mean. Are you as shocked as I am?

Orange Roses: Signify passion and energy

Lavender Roses: Expresses love at first sight

Blue Roses: I can't have you but I can't stop thinking about you

Green Roses: Best wishes for a prosperous new life or wishes for recovery of good health

Black Roses: A Death of the relationship.

Mixed Roses: I don't know what my feelings are yet but I sure do like you enough to send you roses.

There are so many amazing reasons to send and receive roses. They are definitely a gift of well thought. They are not cheap and in any color or size.

What are your roses saying to your recipient? Do you have any beautiful or awkward roses stories to share?
