Live a life without cigarettes in 2017

People who have smoked for at least several years find it hard to imagine a life without cigarettes. It is type of a vice that slowly takes over and you do not even realize that you’re addicted. This is mostly due to nature of cigarettes that do not have such a devastating side effects such as drugs and alcohol. Still, they are a vice and should be approached as such.

Most people realize after several years that smokes, although not as troublesome as some other vices, have some really hasty side effects: they affect your skin, nails, teeth, they affect your respiratory system as well as all other that are in your company.

Luckily for you, there are some really effective ways to stop smoking. It is a process that needs to be planned properly and in this article, I will share some tips that make difference.

1. Create a healthy environment

Unlike drugs and alcohol that have obvious, direct implications, most smokers resent their vice because of the impact it has on their health. Simply put, it can be really devastating long term even leading to death.

In order to start your quitting process, you need to create a healthy, positive environment.

Smoking is not only a bad habit; it is a state of mind. Cigarettes are something that you quickly get used to and they become a part of your daily routine. Soon enough you are no longer able to have a morning coffee or evening beer without lighting one. So, in order to relinquish this habit, make sure to create an atmosphere that supports all these healthy habits. Focus on fruits, vegetables and everything else that your body feels as positive. Soon after that, your body will naturally start pushing away cigarettes as they won’t feel your new found habits.

2. Use e-cigarettes

Most people see e-cigarettes and vape juice as a substitution to cigarettes. However, they can also be used during quitting process.

For example, if you wish to quit slowly, by first reducing the quantity of smokes you take per day, you can use e-cigarette in conjunction with regular ones. Slowly start switching to only e-cigarettes and once you get used to them, start reducing them.

Given that e-cigarettes use on e-juice or vape juice, they are not addictive as regular ones. This means that you will be able to fool your brain, have something to do with your hands and at the same time, you will slowly start eliminating this horrible substance from your body. If you manage to totally switch to e-cigarettes, it is only matter of time till you quit altogether.

3. Start training

Smokers will tell you that cigarettes and sports do not mix. This is true. Given the devastating effect, cigarettes have on your lungs, it is really hard to practice anything. But, if you wish to quit, this is precisely the thing you need to start doing.

Make sure to find a sport you always wanted to train but never had an opportunity to do so. Do not go to the gym or some other weight loss classes – their purpose is weight loss and you will feel out of place. Instead, find a sport that you really wish to train; some skill you always wanted to have. This will provide a long term motivation which is precisely what you need to quit smoking.

As you become more serious regarding sport (while reducing the amount of cigarettes) it will become harder and harder to smoke. This will go on until the moment you finally quit smoking.

4. Avoid crowded places

Cigarettes are like alcohol in a sense that they are a social vice.
If you’re working in a big company you probably have several friends with whom you love smoking.

This is something that needs to stop.

Whether we’re talking about office or pub, you need to stay away from places where you’re likely to start smoking. At least for the first time. Once you get a hold of your vice and find it more comfortable to manage in such an atmosphere, you can return to your regular social agenda.

If you wish to meet with friends, try opting for places with lots of air, if possible pubs and restaurants that have seats outside.
