Turbo Dave- Minion Mip is an App controlled toy/robot that moves along as your child controls him with the app. From my point of view, it's really super cool. From our kids point of view, its one of the coolest things ever. My youngest daughter has loved minions since the first movie. She's had 3 Minion themed birthdays already. She loves the coding ability of the Minion Mip, it's a perfect match-up.
What's in the box?
Opening the box there everything you need to learn how to use your new toy. 1 Minion Mip-Turbo Dave, his own Fart Gun, user manual, and 2 quick start guides. Everything is neatly placed in the box and the ties on the back are easy to untie, there are no tools required to get him out of the box. His batteries are not included, he requires 4 AAA batteries. A Phillips head screwdriver is required to open up the battery section on his back.
Getting started
Minion Mip-Turbo Dave App and the bonus Coder Mip app are both super fun and super easy to use. You can download the apps on Google Play and iTunes.
He's Bluetooth and connects easily with the app. There is a search box that Dave pops up in as soon as he is turned on.

The apps download easily and only request Bluetooth access. It's a free download. As a parent and a consumer, I love the products that only have apps that don't require additional purchases.
Turbo Dave is SO MUCH FUN.
He loves to sing, dance, and make sound effects. He sounds just like he does in the movie. it's a good clear sound too. He talks, sings, laughs, and all kinds of funny minion talk. We all love this little guy. He has over 140+ original sounds and phrases from the despicable me franchise.
The fart gun fits right into the hole in Dave's hand. It looks like a real little gun. Since Dave's arm bends at the elbow and shoulder, the gun is a perfect fit.
In the menu, there are different options for play. I like this because it keeps it interesting and keeps little hands wanting to play. This is definitely not one of those toys that gets played with twice and put in the toy box to collect dust. This is one that will be played with all of the time.
Drive: This mode is for moving Dave around any way you want to. He can go forward, backward, left and right. The fun part is spinning around in circles and making him squeal.
Path: This mode is really fun because you can draw the route the Dave takes. Curves or straight lines, either way- he can go on his own.
Emotion: This gives the player up to five options for Daves emotions.
Cards: The cards that Dave responds to are from the Despicable Me Franchise.
VS: VS mode allows 2 Mips to Fart Battle and so much more.
Coding: Stem coding is a lot of fun. It's a great way to start learning coding and making is so much fun doesn't feel like it's learning, it feels like playing.
Another awesome feature is the battery indicator. Because Turbo Dave is Bluetooth, I can see just how much life his battery life he has left with the icon on the app. When his battery is really low, a pop up comes on saying the battery is low. That is nice to have especially when you are like me and when the batteries go out I instantly think I broke it, not check the batteries. No guess work with this guy.
This is such an awesome remote controlled robot. It has so much personality and interactive learning, I love it. This is recommended for 8+ years but I think there is a maturity level to take into consideration. My nephew that is younger than that loves playing with him and is good at it. In our whole family, we love WowWee's Turbo Dave- Minion Mip.
