Have you ever wondered why people use a lanyard? Really, a leash for keys and a name tag?

Yes. Exactly that!! 

I have so many situations where I need my hands and digging out my keys would throw me completely off. My issue this morning, it was raining hard and I had my hands full of groceries. I had to stop at the door and get my keys out. Fumbling with my fingertips because my wrists were occupied with Wal-Mart bags. I looked back at my cameras because I was curious, how long did I waste at the door.

It was over a minute in a downpour. I was soaking wet. Yes, it's October, it's not a nice warm summer rain. I'm cold to my bones right now. I could have prevented over half of the wet if I was using the lanyard. So, now that my hair is clipped up and my glasses are dried off, I have a dry sweater on, I am convinced, a lanyard is what I am adding to my keys.
I know that is not the only reason for a lanyard, they are great for promotions, organizations, keycards and work badges.

The list goes on and on. I am working with Wholesale Lanyard on a review of their polyester lanyards. and I must admit, I didn't know there were so many styles. I didn't know it was so easy to make your own custom design. I am totally into customization for any product but this is really cool.

Setting it all up is so easy. Click the custom button at the top of the page. There are six different types of lanyard to pick from. While deciding on a material, pick the width of the lanyard. Picking the quantity is in that same step.

There are several types of clasps from standard to locking to choose from. Personally, I like the swivel best. The next step is the lanyard color and text. It's so simple, pick the colors and the text style, write what you want to use in the box.

I set up an example with my info, look how easy it is. It took less than 30 seconds (26.4 seconds) from opening the site to get to the checkout. That was so fast!

Something I really like is the free upgrades to the lanyards. They offer a breakaway option that will keep you safe in an extreme situation. Just say a mugger tries to grab your keys, they will get the keys but, you will not be damaged in the process. Or what if the keys are hung on something? It will break away instead if pinching your neck or wrist.

I think that is an amazing feature for kids. So many kids are responsible for letting themselves into the house after school, this is a great safe way for them to keep up with their keys and get in safely.

I received 2 different lanyards to review. A thin light green one and a thick brick red one. I like them both, I have 2 cars so I will be able to use them all of the time.

The green one has a swivel clasp with a thumb latch. it's lightweight and holds the keys nicely. I think this would make a great keycard lanyard. It's light and I can barely tell it' on.

The red one is thicker and has an oval clasp. I can push my key ring right into it and it grabs my keys. It also features a buckle release so keys are that much easier to access.
