Science On The Go With My First Lab - Smartphone Microscope and 3D Slides

Have you ever thought of turning your kids' phone into a science experiment? Like a mobile lab to try to figure out what is in this huge world around them? I honestly had not given it any thought until I found out about My First Lab. The only science experiment I have really given any thought to with the kid's phones is social experiments.

The things I thought of were simple like - How many messages can a kid send in a month? How many pictures do kids take in a month? How lucky am I that we have an unlimited plan? My First Lab has taken it to another level. Zoom... HA!

What comes in the kit?

  • Universal microscope with clip – fits on any smartphone or tablet
  • 15 Unique Specimens on 5 Prepared Slides
  • 2 Lights – Forensic UV and LED light
  • Slide Carrying and Storage Case

What are on the slides?

  • Animal Hair
  • Broken Shells
  • Cotton
  • Feathers
  • Hair
  • Insect Leg
  • Pepper
  • Pine Cones
  • Rocks
  • Salt
  • Sand
  • Seeds
  • Silk
  • Sugar
  • Wool

The universal microscope with clip fits on any smartphone or tablet. So my Samsung or Cassie's iPhone, or Aron's tablet, we can use them all. This is a great set to have. Now that Cassie is moving towards homeschool, this is a blast to have on our side. It's fun and it's educational.

The prepared slides are easy to handle and kid safe. She can use them as she wants to without my help. It gives her the independence she craves. I love being able to see the kids develop their tastes for things. Science and Math are Cassie's main interests where Abby prefers music and English.

The lights are really cool too, Forensic UV and LED lights to give them the right tools to see the things in the correct way.

The carrying case is small and easily carried by kids hands. It's awesome for road trips too. It will keep them busy and entertained.

We are doing a series of posts for Easter and we think this would make a great addition to a DIY Easter basket for any kid that loves
