Water Your Christmas Tree Without The Fuss With Tree Nanny

I'm one of those people that feel like it's never too early to prepare for an event. I mean really, it never hurts to be prepared for any event. I am the queen of cram meaning that I can get it done in a matter of hours if I need to but, I'd rather be ready.

I rearrange the house every spring and again in the fall. We have a gas furnace we bring in for backup heat during the colder months since we live in the mountains, bad weather brings power outages. There are so many things that we prepare on a regular schedule.

One holiday that I spend most of the year preparing for is Christmas. I start stocking away gifts right after Easter. We have a huge family and I like to make sure everyone has something to open on the one day of the year I know we will all be together.

Aside from gifts, there are a lot more things to prepare for. Decorations and all of the accessories. We use pretty much the same decorations every year, changing out the lights as they go out but, we have the same box of power cords, adapters, timers, yard stakes, all of that. Light clips, stocking hangers, seriously, the list goes on forever!!

One new addition I will be so happy to have this year is the Tree Nanny. As you know, as all of the traditions are cemented into our family's history, my age is also growing. It's not as easy to get down and check the water level of the tree. The tree we usually get is big at the base and even when I could easily get down to check, it was still a pain to do it.

What the Tree Nanny does is checks the water for you by using a probe and it has an easy to use light indicator. When the water is low, pour the water into the funnel end of the Tree Nanny and no more guessing, overflowing, or dry tree ahead of time.

This is so awesome because in previous years I would have to remove any gifts I already have under the tree to add the water then put them all back. That is such a pain. We have little kids and pets so the mini fence we have around the tree would have to be taken down every single time.

This will save so much time and frustration throughout the entire Chrismas season. Our tree is usually up for 5-6 weeks. During that time, if we don't keep the tree hydrated, it will turn brown and leave needles all over the floor which will eventually make it throughout the whole house. I'm not sure how that happens but t does, every single year.

Tree Nanny is on Kickstarter now trying to reach their goal so they can get off the ground. You can get exactly what I got for a $19 pledge. There are so many more pledge amounts to get bigger packages too. The awesome part, these will be sent out by November so you will ready for the Christmas season.

What to expect in your package

1 Tree Nanny 2.0 Sensor Unit
1 Ornamental Funnel and Tube
1 Hook & Loop Mounting Strap

How does it work

The Tree Nanny has a velcro strap that secures it in place around the lower end of the tree. You want to make sure that the device is where it can reach the water level fully.

When the tree needs water it will play a 10-second piece of Jingle Bells or a prerecorded message.  All you have to do then is add water to the funnel and when the water level is reached the Tree Nanny will let you know by making a Chime sound. That prevents overfilling and any mess that may come along with it.

You can check out the Tree Nanny on their Kickstarter page. I received this product for free to facilitate this review. If you have any questions please feel free to email me directly.

  1. I always hated to check the water level. This is a great little gadget!

  2. This sounds great. My husband would always want to leave the tree skirt awry to he could get to the water. I think this would alleviate that problem.

  3. Due to the untraditional working environment of most nanny jobs, nannies are often expected to work odd hours and the boundaries of expectations between the family and the nanny can easily blur read the article
