What was pregnancy like for you? Did you have grapes hand fed to you? Milk baths with rose petals? Someone wheeling you around so your miracle-working body could rest and prepare for the life-changing event that was taking place? No, absolutely not, that doesn't happen in real life!!
What happens in real life is stressful, stretching, overtiredness that is flat out uncomfortable. I'm not making pregnancy out to be a bad thing, I loved every little thing about it. Well, almost everything. If I were able, I'd do it again in a second!
My feet and ankles swelled so bad, I thought they were going to pop sometimes. I worked the whole way through both pregnancies. As a full-time waitress during both and through the second pregnancy, I worked 2 full-time jobs. I was tired a lot! I still have the broken veins on my legs, 12 years later. It's crazy to think of the physical damage you can do to your body while carrying.
Putting future health into perspective, I would have done things a lot differently with my pregnancies. That definitely includes how I took care of myself during physical activity. I honestly never thought that those few months would have impacted me the rest of my life.
I wedged my feet into heels as much as possible when that was a no go, I got those cute ballerina flats that look like high heels with no heel. By the end of the 3rd trimester, flip-flops. I didn't care if I got frostbite on my toes by the beginning of February. If I wasn't working, I wasn't wearing! I had no arch or ankle support while adding a good 50 lbs on me in such a brief time. by good, I mean 75lbs, hahaha. Something like Pregnitos would have been a huge help.
