Traveling is something that we love very much. We have family that lives a few states away and it's an awesome adventure every time we get to see them. On top of the long distance traveling we do, we like to travel locally too. We have spent time in so many places within 2 hours of home.

2 hours is a good day trip or even a good weekend trip. It's far enough away to get s completely different change in scenery and a fresh breath of air but it's close enough to still be home at a decent hour on Sunday.

It's funny why we always pick the 2 hour limit for our weekend trips is because check out is 11am, football Sunday kick off is 1pm. That's perfect. We get to travel and be back to the tv and snacks for the Sunday show.



Traveling is something we love but it isn't always so affordable so we have to wait until the time is right or we can get a really good deal on our lodging.

I get so excited when it comes to savings and traveling. We are part of so many different rewards clubs that is hard to keep track of when we're traveling for specific reasons. I do admit we're a little bit spoiled and we really pay attention to the accommodations like free Wi-Fi indoor pool heated and the full breakfast.


So when it comes to filtering through motels, finding great deals, and looking for the something that we approve of takes time and ends up with us making sacrifices that we don't want to make. I mean really, who wants to go on a trip to only get some of what they want. When we save up and we are paying for it, we want what we want.

It gets a bit pricey and sadly, it's what we expect anymore. Even with the rewards program. So, when you find something that is everything you want and at a better deal, it's the best feeling ever! That's what I got with Hotels Etc.

We have been happy rewards members of Wyndham Rewards and Choice Hotels for years. To be honest, until now I thought those were only options for saving real money. Because those are non-gimmicky websites. They show the real rooms with the real savings plus the rewards points to cash in to get free stays later. But, I was wrong I don't mind sharing when I'm wrong and finding a better deal.

I just found that out at Hotels Etc. They have rates posted for motels that have tax included in the price. Unlike the other Motel reservation sites, there's no surprise at checkout it is awesome for traveling family to know up front what to expect.

Another idea as far as what to do with the savings is upgrading a room. Why not go for the hot tub and full service if we're going to save money doing it? It's all about the Comfort right.




Hotels Etc it's not just about booking rooms. They offer so many services to make every vacation and even staycation feel like it was taylor made just for you. With a rate that you can actually afford and enjoy with no guilt and take the whole family if you want to. They offer great rates on cruises, theme parks, airfare, and so many more amazing adventures just like that.

I've been thinking about it and what am I actually getting with the rewards sites? Since I'm not actually saving money, I feel like I am just prepaying for that one night that I might cash my rewards points before they expire. I'm not saving the money I thought I was at all. I'm just paying the sticker price for a room that I could get not being a member.



After further research and comparison with the rewards site that I am a member of, I am pretty disappointed. Hotels Etc can lock in my room at a very amazing rate that I can see and know I am getting the best deal upfront with no hidden fees or charges. Not even taxes. The taxes are right there on the listing.
