I have been hearing so much about the Keto diet. I have seen great results in so many people. In real life, not just online. It's amazing! My cousin lost over 75lbs, my other cousin lost over 50lbs, it's amazing. Together, they lost the weight of an average 5'4" woman.

A few years ago I went on a diet and lost over 100lbs. I felt like a new person. It was amazing at the things that I could do without getting winded. Being a heavier person takes a lot of energy. I just didn't realize how much until I lost the extra weight. It took me over a year to lose the weight. Probably closer to 2 years. It was a lot of hard work and determination.

The Keto diet gives even better results with less time and less effort. It's crazy, and again, I have seen this with my own two eyes!! Since I lost my weight, I have gained about 30lbs back. It's a struggle every single day for me.

I would love to try the Keto Diet to try to get these extra lbs off. I have been researching it to make sure it will be a great fit for me and so far it seems like it would be a great option. I want to share with you guys some of the research I have found so if you want to try it, it won't be as much leg work for you :)

For starters, What is the Keto Diet?

The ketogenic diet is a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet that in medicine is used primarily to treat difficult-to-control (refractory) epilepsy in children. The diet forces the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates. Normally, the carbohydrates contained in food are converted into glucose, which is then transported around the body and is particularly important in fueling brain function.
So eating foods according to the diet guidelines will help considerable weight loss. I say YES to that!!

Finding the foods that are in your diet plan is the best place to start. 


  • Eggs: Pastured, organic whole eggs make the best choice.
  • Poultry: Chicken and turkey.
  • Fatty fish: Wild-caught salmon, herring and mackerel.
  • Meat: Grass-fed beef, venison, pork, organ meats, and bison.
  • Full-fat dairy: Yogurt, butter, and cream.
  • Full- fat cheese: Cheddar, mozzarella, brie, goat cheese, and cream cheese.
  • Nuts and seeds: Macadamia nuts, almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, peanuts, and flaxseeds.
  • Nut butter: Natural peanut, almond, and cashew butters.
  • Healthy fats: Coconut oil, olive oil, avocado oil, coconut butter, and sesame oil.
  • Avocados: Whole avocados can be added to almost any meal or snack.
  • Non-starchy vegetables: Greens, broccoli, tomatoes, mushrooms, and peppers.
  • Condiments: Salt, pepper, vinegar, lemon juice, fresh herbs, and spices.

I can find so many meal options on that list. See, it's not torturing!!
