Do you crank up the heat or add more layers? For me, that is a timeless question. I like to set my heat on one number and manage my comfort level with hoodies or a blanket. We have throw blankets all over the house, pretty much with all of our seating there is a blanket to go with it. On the couches, rocking chairs, at both of my desks, even on the beds, there is an extra blanket. We like to chill comfy. No need to crank up the heat higher when we can get cozy in a throw.

What makes a throw blanket have "just right" status for me is a combination of texture, size, easy maintenance, heat holing, and color.
I like an oversized blanket because I like to wrap my shoulders and tuck my feet. I don't like it so big that I feel like I'm fighting a tarp when it's wrapped around me like a cape going through the house. I'm 5'7" so my perfect blanket size is 60x80. That equals up to a twin-sized blanket.
I like it soft, not scratchy. I don't like fuzzy because I sneeze easy and I like my face burrowed up to my eyes. I like something that will feel nice on my skin to snuggle.
I don't like a throw blanket that makes me sweat. I like the middle of the road blanket, nothing too extreme in any direction. I want to add warmth and comfort to my current situation.
Maintainance is a big deal for me. I want something that goes with the flow in my busy chaotic life. I have kids and get messy sometimes. I want a blanket that I can throw right into the washer and dryer, get it out and start the snuggle all over again.
I like neutral colors so I feel more relaxed. It's nice when my throw blankets can fit it with any room.
