The Basics
There are some basics of a nighttime routine that we think you should have, and the first is to start with a nice hot shower or bath. A soak in the bath is going to work wonders on your body, and on your mind. As you sink into the bubbly water, you can literally feel the troubles of the day melting away. Plus, the transfer from the hot water to the cold air, and then being able to snuggle up and get warm in a towel is one of the best ways of inducing that sleep. But before you do that, you need to have a good pamper. Make sure you use a face wash, a cleanser, and a toner. Every other night you should treat your skin to a face mask, and always make sure that you’re using a moisturizer every single time. You’re then set to get out of the bath and into bed. Always make sure you go to bed with comfy pajamas on. Putting pajamas on rather than just using underwear is a signal for your brain to get sleepy. Pajamas are comfy and easy to wear and will help to give you a night of better sleep, believe it or not.
Wind Your Mind Down
You definitely need to wind your mind down so that you can relax into bed, rather than getting into bed with a head full of stress and anxiety. Where possible, make sure you’re leaving the troubles of the day at the door, and make sure you truly relax and are ready for a good night’s sleep. To take your mind away from the troubles of the day, you might benefit from reading a book before bed. Your mind is focused on the story you’re reading, rather than whatever is causing you to stress from the day. It’s also a great way of being able to fall to sleep. You’ll find that you get tired far more easily when your head is buried in a book, rather than when it’s buried in social media on your phone. Being on your phone before bed is a surefire way of staying up far later than your body would have liked you to!
Luxurious Essentials
There are definitely some essentials that you need to put on your list if you’re going to want an incredible nights sleep. Luxurious essentials such as oils are known for their properties for the body. Some induce sleep, some induce relaxation, some help promotes healing, and some help the skin become less dry and tired. Fragrance oils are the best to use because the aromas can help to induce the relaxation you need, as well as help to make you smell and feel great. All you’d need is a tiny bit, and you could even just use it on your wrists and temples. That way you’re not covering your body in oils, but you are hitting the main areas that will leave you smelling great for so long.
Sleep Hacks
To make sure you’re getting to sleep on time to get enough sleep, you could use some of the sleep therapy apps. It’s a great sleep hack if you’re someone who struggles to fall off to sleep. These can track your sleep, tell you when to go to sleep, and play calming music or sounds to make that happen. Some people like listening to audiobooks to try and go to sleep, which is another great one to try!
