Associates Home Loans Gets You On The Right Track

What dreams do you have for owning a home? We have rented the same home for the past 5 1/5 years. Between rent payments, upgrades, and remodeling we have over $50,000 invested in this place that we will never be able to get anything out of. Renting definitely has its pros and cons but we want to own one day for sure.

There are so many things involved with choosing the perfect home that isn't just the home itself. Believe me, the perfect home in the wrong area can be a nightmare to deal with.

Lender

No matter what type of loan you are looking for, hard money loan, private loan, bankruptcy, or self-employed loan, the team over at Associates Home Loans can find the best one for you.

Make your list and check it twice (or twenty times- it' your list)

When making your checklist of home options, be sure to specify if it is a need or a want. We want extra office space but we NEED handicapped accessibility. Make sure you prioritize so you don't cut yourself short. Some things can be moved from one side or the other if you remodel the space you already have or have the adequate space for adding on. After all, this is the biggest investment you will make for your family.

Location

When you are looking for a home it's not just the home you are buying. You are buying into the local economy. Do you want to be surrounded by rural mountains or farmland? What about being in the city where everything is a hop skip or a jump from you?

Currently, we are in a very mountainous region. We have to drive at least 15 minutes to get to a convenience store even farther for a grocery store. When we buy, we would like to be on the outskirts of town and closer to the business section. At least close enough to order delivery, that's a guilty pleasure of mine.

Utilities

Some things that aren't always discussed when looking for a home is the utilities. Utilities are a top priority for our family because we like to use the internet. I would highly recommend finding a neighborhood chat group for the area that you want to live in. There you will find honest opinions from current users to see if that is something that you want to be provided for you.

Our internet provider has a great website and shows what service is available for our area. It wasn't until after already moving in that we found out it was not exactly true for our area. They only have to provide 1/3 of what they offer, by law. If I would have check into a local chat group I would have known that. I would not recommend our internet provider to anyone.

Land Rights

Most people think that when they buy a home and land that they own that land so they can do what they want with it. That's not always the case. Some land is zoned for specific reasons.

An example of that:

My daughter's grandmother purchased a home and wanted to put up a prebuilt storage building for her lawnmower, weedeater, and other yard related items. She was not allowed to use the metal building because it was a bird sanctuary and only wood structures were allowed.

When you have checked your list and have found the perfect balance of won't budge and compromise, go get that house!!
