If you could remodel any room of your house which one would it be? It might sound funny but when I can't sleep, I remodel the house in my head. For me, it's way better than counting sheep. I love it because I can go over all of the scenarios without having to spend a penny. If you don't have the opportunity to design your own home, you can get a new bath, Houston Texas has a great company that can do it for you!

Getting a new bathroom means you can make everything the way you want or just replace a few things and make it look different. If it was me going for it, I would go for it all the way. I would change the color and give it a theme. I would create an atmosphere that is the perfect place to relax and let the weight of the day melt away. But it has to be the same place to get you up and moving in the morning. So there has to be balance.

What color would you go with?

There are several colors that I would choose for a bathroom. I like picking 2 colors for a room, one main color, and an accent color so I can create a theme to make the room flow nicely. In the bathroom, a light blue and white would make a nice base. It's relaxing and clean.

I have lived in a lot of places and have had many color themes in bathrooms from black and white, burgundy and beige, blue and beige, I even had a solid blue bathroom with an under the sea theme. It was REALLY cute.


Windows

Thinking of the windows, I like a big open view. I love the breeze blowing through the room. The blowing curtains and warm breeze are nostalgic for me. One amazing thing for me is I have no neighbors so I don't have to worry about anyone looking in while I'm looking out.  If you like windows and you have neighbors you can always go with a textured glass or thicker window treatments to keep privacy.

If you like a smaller window in the bathroom you could go with a narrow long window or even skylights. Skylights are beautiful in any room but in a bathroom, they let in that much needed natural light.

Vanity

If you are remodeling your bathroom, do you want a single or double vanity with a sink or would you want a pedestal sink with the vanity in a separate space? I like having the sink, counter space, and mirror in one place. A great example of why is I am not that great at makeup. It usually requires at least one do-over if I am trying to get something specific. One time I tried to do the winged eyeliner look and I had to wash it off so many times that I looked like I had an allergic reaction by the time I was done. My eyelid was swollen and irritated I thought it was going to bruise.

Bath or Shower

This is a tough decision sometimes. If you have medical conditions that prevent you from getting up and down easily a shower or walk-in bath would be your best option. If you have a multi-person bathroom a shower and tub might be your best choice. If you have limited space or want to create a bigger floor space, a shower stall would be a nice compliment.
