Roaming Control Can Help On Distance Traveling

How much do you travel? Do you spend a lot of time on your device while you are out? Our family is very digital and we all use our devices constantly. Some of us have more than one device depending on what we are doing. With that being said, have you gotten a phone bill that put you in shock, grounding everyone on your plan from their devices and made you consider getting a second mortgage to get the bill settled? Have you checked into roaming control?
When preparing for a family trip or a business trip there are so many things to plan for. You'll want to check the vehicle and make sure it is ready for the trip, check the weather so you know what clothes to bring, and check your cell providers service are to see if you will be in range so you can plan accordingly.
Every time I go visit my mom I have to stick my phone in the kitchen window and hope that I am picking up enough signal to get the phone to ring if someone calls. I already know that going in. There is no calling out when I get there. I hate to say it but having no cell service is these generations equivalent to no indoor plumbing. It's a shock just as much as it is an inconvenience.
Check the vehicle
You want your vehicle in the best running shape as possible to get the best gas mileage possible. And believe me, you don't want to break down while on a trip. We got stuck in Chattanooga TN once. So happy the motel had a pool. Getting your vehicle ready for a trip can be pretty easy. If you bring it to the shop they can do it all for you for a fee. If you want to save some money and do it yourself, here is my simple checklist. FYI, now would be a good time to see if your insurer has roadside assistance. Mine is only $1.26 a month. It paid for itself the first time I locked the keys in the car.
Check the miles for the oil change. If you are close to the next oil change you can get it changed before you go or map out a place at your destination.
Make sure your tires are all aired up properly. Tires being off-balance or low can get bad gas mileage. You want to try to get the best gas mileage you can when you are traveling. Be sure to get the spare tire checked too. A flat spare tire will do you no favors on the highway.
Make sure you have a little bag of snacks and waters packed up, if you have kids, you will thank me later.
Check your devices
When you are in an area with little to no service you have to make sure you am prepared. Make sure your devices are charged. Always bring a backup battery. If you have to leave and go back into the service range you don't want your battery to die on top of hunting for a signal.
If charging your devices isn't a problem, make sure you have the proper cables to charge your devices. Be sure to bring one extra cable per phone type and as many pairs of earbuds as there are people. I am so serious about this one.
My kids and husband always bring their own chargers. Even though EVERYONE gets in the car with their charger, at least one person has lost their charger by the time we hit the interstate and is complaining that the person with a compatible charger is on 85% but won't share because they don't want them losing them too. We had four teenagers in the house at one time- It Will Happen!
Check the weather
When you travel, make sure you check the forecast for the upcoming temps. You want to make sure you bring a lightweight jacket or hoodie even in the nicer months. Just do it because mom will tell you to anyway. Make sure you have enough clothes to last the whole trip or that your lodging offers a laundry on site.
I hope this helps for any traveling that you may bedoing.
