Except, possibly, when it involves a little pampering!
Even if you can’t go out to the spa right now for all your usual pleasures, that doesn’t mean you’re stuck for options. It turns out that there are all sorts of at-home treatments you can apply in the comfort of your bathroom.
Take a look at some of these ideas to leave you feeling fresh and dazzling.
Foot Masks
When was the last time you indulge your feet in a mask? If you’re like most people, the answer is probably never.
Feet, though, are probably more in need of tenderness and care than any other part of the body. They’re continually in contact with the ground, supporting the weight of your entire body above them.
Foot masks are basically just like facemasks and contain a variety of ingredients, like oats and sea salt, that leaves your skin feeling supple and smooth, just like after a mud bath.
Aromatherapy Shower
If bathing isn’t your thing, you might want to try out an aromatherapy shower. Just put a few drops of essential oil on a flannel and then allow the steam to diffuse the oils into the surrounding air naturally.
LifeCo suggests buying a range of different types of oils. You may find that some are more relaxing and uplifting for others. It all depends on your personal preferences.
Eye-Soothing Treatments
The fact that you can’t spend so much time outside is a big problem for your eyes. Many of us are developing dark circles from disrupted sleep patterns and a lack of general movements.
Problems with dark circles usually arise when the fluid that sits in the sacs below the eyes cannot drain. You can, however, use traditional remedies, like chamomile tea bags and cucumber, to assist in this process, cooling and soothing the eye area. Just like back and leave these items on the eyelids and bags for ten minutes and allow them to work their anti-inflammatory magic.
Take A Milk Bath
Some spas offer so-called milk baths as a way to soothe conditions like psoriasis and eczema.
You don’t have to use regular whole milk. That could get expensive. Instead, try adding a few scoops of milk powder to the tub and watch the water turn white. The lactose in the milk acts as a natural skin softener, making it feel soft and smooth and providing moisture to dry or touch patches.
Have A Steam Facial
If you can’t go for your regular facial, a simple steam alternative can do just the trick.
Have you ever noticed how your skin seems so much better when you get out of the shower? The reason for this has to do with how steam interacts with the skin. Primarily, it activates the lower layers, encouraging them to come through and replace the old.
Fill a bowl with hot water and add a couple of drops of your favorite essential oil. Then leave your face to steam for a few minutes, followed by a clay mask.
