What is your plan for your kids this school year? We have more options than we usually do going in. That means most of us will be second-guessing and much self-doubt. Don't worry fellow newbie teachers, we will get through this. We are parents and caregivers, we love all of our babies and we are going to make it through this making memories the whole way!
With all of these new adjustments, have you decided what your plans will be? It's such a huge debate because of the uncertainty. Do we send our kids to school and risk spreading the Coronavirus? Do we keep them home and risk them falling behind? Do we try the hybrid schedule and just hope for the best? There is no wrong answer here. We are all doing our best to make what works for our own family, work smoothly. High five to all of the parents, caregivers, teachers, and students for making it all work!
The three options we have been discussing are:
Virtual learning- Everything is done online from a computer, tablet/iPad, laptop, or smartphone. Anything that needs to be printed off can either be printed at home or picked up at the home base institution.
Face to face learning- which is the traditional way with teachers in the classrooms.
Hybrid learning- Kids doing a combination of the two other options.

It can be a scary time for parents, teachers, and kids. I have been trying to think of simple ways to keep some of the familiarity to ease the stress. What is the one thing that never changes? Seriously thinking about it, only one thing throughout the day for kids that stays the very same from pre-k to senior year, the one thing that has made some of the best memories? LUNCH.
Let's make this fun. We have already reviewed several snack ideas that are great for home and school. Individual servings so there's no measuring, cutting, or cupping. Let's go over some great ideas for lunch that will be fun to let kids bring them to school or to have made up for school at home. Let's all work together to keep the kids at the same pace that they are used to so they don't fall behind.
Some kids aren't so happy about the continued online learning. Make lunchtime a special time. Only you know your child like you do. Some kids do better on a routine while others like a little bit of adventure. Either way, by having lunch
For the kids that like a set routine, have lunch at the same time every day, just like at school. It would be fun if you could even have it at the same time as their classmates would have. You can easily make a little sign with a piece of paper that says "Cafeteria" so they get the real feel for it.
For kids that get bored easily, make it an adventure. You could let them help plan the lunch and also let them choose where to have it. That would be so much fun. With a sheet or blanket (waterproof for carpeted areas), the possibilities are endless!
Let's make the perfect lunch!!
Main Course
Sandwiches are pretty universal. There is so much that you can do with it. Meat and cheese, cheese no meat, meat no cheese, pb&j, PB no J, J no PB, crust no crust, grilled cheese. pizza sandwich, meatloaf sandwich, banana and fluff, mayo and banana, peanut butter and fluff, the list can go on forever!
Make meat and cheese roll-ups, a homemade Lunchable, spaghetti and meatballs, ravioli, soup, you name it, lunch really can be the best part of the day.
Drinks
In my opinion, drinks with lids or drink pouches are the best way to go. Drink pouches are great for all ages. TreeTop has juice
Consumers can now find Tree Top Fruit+Water pouches in select WinCo Foods and Albertsons stores.
They are offered in four flavors and sold in single-flavor 8-count cartons. Learn more about new Tree
Top Fruit+Water, here.
Snacks
Lunchbox snacks are the most traded item in the lunchbox. We reviewed a few different snacks from Mrs. Freshley's and Tasty Kake just the other day. I recommend individually wrapped snacks so they can be just as mobile as your kiddo's.
I received this product for free as a gift to facilitate this review. If you have any questions please feel free to email me directly.
