This horn does have to be wired in to use. The instructions are very simple to follow. If you have any concerns about the wiring process there are several tutorials on Youtube about installing the horn fully. You can purchase all of the additional pieces that you need on Amazon and have them delivered right to your door.
If you are looking to customize something special it is possible! One thing that I think is very awesome and my intentions all along are hooking this air horn up to my husband's wheelchair. A battery pack will be required to make it work. If you are looking to use this air horn on a bicycle or wheelchair, there are several videos on youtube to help you make the plan work. After some quick research and some communications, I found out that this horn can be powered by a deer feeder battery.
