New Kitchen Tools- 5 in 1 REDMOND Immersion Hand Blender

How many recipes will you be making this holiday season? Starting with Thanksgiving, and ending with New Year, I know of about 20 dishes we will be making if not more. That's just a quick estimate. We are making all of the same food this year just making it on a smaller scale. Usually, our family dinners have a minimum of 30 people plus the stop-by-ers that swing in for a hunk of turkey or a piece of the pie because they ate dinner somewhere else. This year, it's a totally different situation. We will have only six of us. This is the first time in nearly a decade that we haven't had the entire family together.

Here is the rundown just for Thanksgiving:

Turkey breast
Ham
Green bean casserole
Scalloped corn
Stuffing
Mashed potatoes
Sweet potatoes
Pumpkin pie
Pecan pie
Cherry Pie
Pineapple upside-down cake
Chocolate dream pie
Potica
Cranberry sauce
Deviled eggs

Considering the circumstances, we are skipping the big family celebrations and having small ones, all connected with a video of some sort. So far we have households chiming in with Google Meet, Facebook, and Snapchat. It's going to be unique for sure. We have 4 states connecting. We just might have more in digital attendance than ever shows up in physical attendance. Just thinking about it, from three cities, 4 states, that's 740 miles, 670 miles, 960 miles, 140 miles, 20 miles,10 miles, and us, that's over 2500 miles that won't be traveled this Covid season. That's only one dinner, could you imagine if everyone stayed home and did the responsible thing?

The only drawback to that is we will be missing out on some special dishes that only certain people bring every year. The big one is my sister's Italian Beef- I have no idea how to make it and have vowed to never try. She has perfected it! Oh, but then there are my mom's pies. no one can make those. And I'm the only one that makes the potica. We will all have sacrifices but it's worth not getting sick and will make next year even more special.

One thing that is new is every house will have to make every dish. We have some recipe sharing that is a few decades premature but that's ok. That being said, we may need to get a few different kitchen tools to make it happen. I just got the REDMOND 5-in-1 Immersion Hand Blender. This is going to be amazing. It's going to be the stat of the show with it's chopping and whisking ability. Do you even know how many pies I have to make and I'm not even a good cook?

For the potica alone, I will be using this in three different ways. With the eggs, beating the eggs for the crust and then stiff egg whites for the filling, and the nuts have to be chopped fine. This is going to save so much time! Because it's a 5 in 1 tool, I won't be having to get out so many tools. So awesome!
