I loved watching Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. I learned so many valuable life lessons watching that show. I really liked that all of the characters were unique and special in their own way. It made going to school and on outings with my family so much more understanding. All of the other people were unique and special too. I remember being little and looking at people to see what I could see that made them different than me. I was a little weird one sometimes. I think I was 4 when I realized people didn't have an outline. I was shocked.
Did you have a favorite segment of the Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood show? When I was little, my favorite part of the show was when Mister Rogers went to businesses and learned about what other people did and what they made. It was like taking a field trip without leaving my living room. I thought it was so cool that people did stuff.

I knew we could buy things at stores but didn't know how it got there. I thought if someone was working at a store that it was their store. If it was a neighborhood store that was on the first floor of a building, the store worker lived there too. I have no idea what put those ideas in my head but it made sense to me.
Mister Rogers was great at helping kids learn about feelings. Being a kid is confusing sometimes. Often kids express their feelings of anger, sadness, frustration, etc with the same reaction. Tears, aggression, silence, and other actions because they don't know how to react or what they are really feeling.
I just got the book Hello, Neighbor! The Kind and Caring World of Mister Rogers by Matthew Cordell.
Hello, Neighbor! The Kind and Caring World of Mister Rogers (Holiday House) is the only authorized picture book biography about Mister Rogers. Written and illustrated by Caldecott medalist Matthew Cordell for ages 4-8, the book explores the history of the acclaimed series and its inspiring creator in an accessible way for children. The book includes a short biography of Fred Rogers as well as exclusively published archival photos provided by Fred Rogers Productions, and an essay from the author.
This is such a cute book. I think it's so nice that the book shares the life of Mister Rogers and shares his interests as a person. It shows off his hard work and great accomplishments in his life leading up to the production of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood and all of the roles that he filled throughout the 900 (Yes, 900) episodes.
