Get Ready To See A Doctor At Home With The Med & Beyond App

Finding fast responding reliable healthcare that works with you and for you can be super tricky. I know first hand when you don't feel good, finding the right doctor, making an appointment, and getting there to see them is just too much of a task. When it's not an emergency but you know you need to be seen and the doctor doesn't have an opening for 2 weeks that fits in your schedule, it's so discouraging. Most likely the illness will have passed by then, won't it?

So, then what? You wait out the two weeks feeling like garbage, slowly get better and call and cancel when the two-day reminder on your phone goes off because you are better and already back to work. So, what was wrong with you? Are you all the way better? Does it even matter at this point? That may sound a little pessimistic but, it's the reality for a lot of us. We would rather save that $150 for an office visit when we feel like we have waited too long to be helped. We live in a fast-paced world, we need to be seen, get treated, and get back to living as quickly as possible.

So, what do you do then? My plan of action is usually a little extreme like searching symptoms until I have myself convinced that I need to be contacting a lawyer to get my last will and testament sorted out instead of having a doctor tell me I have something simple that a round of antibiotics or in my case 75% of the year, an allergy pill will cure.

I am here to say, it's my opinion, but it's okay to be worried when you aren't feeling good. Don't ignore your body. If the lights on your dash are flashing, get it checked out. You never know, it could be something simple now that won't be so simple later on.

What am I recommending? Med & Beyond Telehealth. I love Med & Beyond because it is available when I need it, without leaving home, without having to wait days or weeks on end to get fit into an office visit, and it's only $39 for the first visit using code VISIT39. Yes, $39. I want to write that in a bigger font with twenty exclamations after it. My doctor's office is three times that much per visit and that doesn't cover anything, only coming it. Every little thing is extra.

Why Telehealth

It's no secret what we have been through over the past year dealing with the pandemic. This is a whole world crisis not just in one place or another. It's been hard to get a doctor's appointment in person and to be honest, for months, it's scary to even consider going to the doctor. We didn't know what we would be exposed to just by visiting an office. Using telehealth as an option, being seen is so much safer than going into a doctor's office. You aren't exposed to anything, you get a face-to-face visit with a doctor, and you can speak freely in the privacy of your own home.

Being Prepared For the Visit

Every time you go to the doctor they have a full list of questions they run by you to get to know your body and your illness better. They ask basic things like: have you had a fever or chills, how much do you weigh? You can be extra prepared for a telehealth visit by checking these things ahead of time. There are so many home devices that will help you monitor your bodily functions that I recommend having on hand and will help you relay the best information to your doctor.
  • Thermometer
  • Pulse-Ox
  • Wrist or Arm Blood Pressure Cuff
  • Bathroom Scale
None of those items are required but will help you to get a better diagnosis from the doctor on your screen. Those are all super simple and you can check them while you wait for your doctor to come on screen. It's so much better (in my opinion) to have these devices at home instead of going by the measure from your last check-up.
  • A thermometer will let you know what body temp you have.
  • A Pulse-Ox will tell you your pulse and your oxygen saturation.
  • Wrist or Arm Blood Pressure Cuff will show you what your blood pressure is.
  • A Bathroom Scale will give you an acute weight that you are today.
