Have you heard of Photowall? I have worked with them several times in the past and have never been let down yet. They have so many options for pictures, that was the hardest decision for me.
So, what started the whole process this time, my daughters were both here at the same time and it was the first nice day we have had in a while. It was a long winter this year. They were in a great mood and getting ready to leave and go do sister stuff for the afternoon so I grabbed a quick picture of them out in my driveway. It was just one of those moments when everything was just right. The sun was shining, they were both feeling great and in a good mood AND they were happy enough to stop and pose for a picture for dear old mom.
It was a great picture and they both liked it too. Which, is a feat in itself. Neither one of them said "Ewe delete it" or "If you post that I'm blocking you" which is a rarity with my daughters. With that type of reaction, I knew I needed to blow it up. So, blow it up I did! Photowall has so many great options, they are SO lucky I didn't turn it into a wallpaper selection because they do offer that!
I chose to make a custom 28x20 poster of my two most precious people in this world. It was done in a matter of minutes. It's so easy and way cheaper than I ever thought it would be to make a custom poster. Usually, I just stick with the bigger-sized pictures but, a poster, yes, it had to happen. Just to clarify, I did get this poster for free for this campaign but with the price range, I am ordering another one in the same size for me and Aron.
The process for making a custom print was so easy too. I'll walk you through it so you can see just how easy it is. I can just about guarantee it will be faster to order the picture than it will be to read this whole post. It's that simple!
Instructions for how I used Photowall
Go to Photowall and select "Your Image" in the top bar.
You will see the options for different types of prints. You can choose from "Own Wallpaper", "Own Canvas", "Own Framed Print", and "Own Poster". I chose "Own Poster" meaning a poster from my own image.
Select the size and border
For me, this was another tricky step, I wanted it to be HUGE but I can be a little overboard sometimes so I got out my handy dandy measuring tape and eyeballed some measurements that I thought would look nice. I chose the 28in x 20in size because it is perfect to hang over the recliner chair in the living room.
For the border, I chose no white border and the smoked ash frame. The picture I took was outside with a wooded background and I thought it would make a great finish, I was right!!
I added the picture to my cart and checked out. That was so easy!
Now for the delivery... I didn't tell the girls I ordered it so it would be a surprise.
I was so excited to get the poster here, I had it hung in a matter of minutes. The paper quality is amazing (200 g/m²). At first, I thought it was printed on canvas and had to look to see what it was exactly. I couldn't believe how nice it turned out. It was rolled up and wrapped up nicely. The box was strapped and very secure. I love that it was delivered without even one wrinkle!
I got the poster unrolled and put it in a larger than needed poster frame to smooth it out. it looks amazing hanging up. The brilliant colors look like I am looking right at them! I can't believe how nice it turned out.
The smoked ash hanger came with all of the pieces to assemble it. This too is an easy part of the whole photo process. The assembly kit comes with 2 bar pieces, a tool, and leather string for hanging the poster.
Assembling The Hanger
Take the two bar pieces and look for the one that has the round holes for the string. You will be able to tell the two pieces apart by the bottom bar does not have the round holes in it. Tie one end of the string into a single knot at one end, cut off the excess string and pull the knot into the hole so it is not visible. Smooth out the string and push it down through the hole at the opposite end of the bar. With the bar laying flat, you can see how much of a drop you will have. Adjust it to the proper length. Tie a knot in the string cut off the excess string and pull the knot into the hole so it is not visible. That will give you your hanging string.
Lay the bar flat with the screws facing up. This will be the back of the poster. Using the tool provided, loosen the screws in the bar, and remove the thin wooden slat from the center of the bar. Slide the top of the poster into the bar face down. Slide the thin wooden slat back into the bar over the back of the poster and tighten down the screws with the provided tool. This is the top of the frame complete. Do the same process with the bottom bar.
Once both bars are in place you can hang your beautiful Photowall poster from the nail sent in the assembly kit.
I can't express my love for this product enough! I can't believe the quality of the print and how it looks just like the picture on my phone. I am surprised every time I look around the room and it's hanging there. This is going to be a picture I will cherish forever!
A HUGE Thank You to Photowall for working with me on this project! Check out Photowall on their website and social channels to see what kind of things they will come up with next.
