Computer Monitor Light, SHUXAG LED Reading Desk Lamp

How is your desk set up? Having your workstation set up in a way that you can work productively is very important. I have noticed over the past 7 years of owning this website that it's more than the physical accessories like keyboard placement, wristpad, chair height, and coffee cup. Although those are major contributors lighting is also a key component.

When it comes to lighting, you need to make sure you have a brightness that won't hurt your eyes. I am the first one to admit, that I have had to stop working and go and lay down because of eye strain from the computer light. I have also fallen asleep at my desk while working because of eye tiredness. If you are on your computer for an extended amount of time, you need to make sure you have lighting options that are a good balance for you.

For me, there are many factors that play into my lighting. Since this is such a major issue for me, I feel like it's something that some of you are experiencing too. I want to go over a few lighting options that I have tried over the years to help me out.

Natural Lighting

I live in the middle of the woods. I know we have talked about that before. I can have my windows all the way open and not get any direct sunlight coming in. It's great for shade and helping with the electric bill but, natural lighting is something that I would love to have in my office space. I have tried moving my desk to different spaces all over my house and there is no place that gets direct light except my bedroom between the hours of 4pm-6pm.

Lamps

I love lamps. I think every piece of sitting furniture should have one. At my desk, I have a table lamp on my filing cabinet and a floor lamp right next to my desk. I like being in a well-lit space. Those are great but don't do much for my desk space or helping my eyes out while I'm working.

Ceiling light

I have a ceiling fan in the center of the room with lights in it. It works great to light the room but doesn't help while I am working on the computer and that is what I was looking for most. Something that I can have to light up my desk space only.

Computer Monitor Lamp

This is the one guys. I know we have talked about these before and I still stand firm on every computer needing one. I have a Computer Monitor Light that rests right on my monitor and lights up my desk perfectly to help me be more productive while I am typing all day.

The light I am currently using is the Computer Monitor Light, SHUXAG LED Reading Desk Lamp with No Glare, Screen Light Bar, Gaming Light with Touch Sensor for Home/Office, 3 Color Modes & USB Powered & Adjustable Brightness.

Why is the monitor light the best light for a desk?

For me, I work in a common area in the house. Since this is a shared space, it's not nice to keep all of the lights on while I am working. I have days that I am working until way past bedtime for everyone else and having the whole room lit isn't nice for the rest of the family.

When everyone is chilling out watching tv, they don't like all of my lamps on. Lighting is lighting. It can be very distracting. I could turn my lights off but then I will be in the dark trying to get my work done. I am here to tell you for the hundreds of times I have written a blog post in the dark, it's not a great feeling for my eyes.

Setting Up the SHUXAG PC Screen Light

I love an easy setup with any gadget. It doesn't get much easier than that. It's probably the easiest light source to use. It's easy as 1, 2, 3!

Place the screen light on the computer monitor where you would like it to rest.
Plug it into a USB power supply
Tap the touch-sensor pad to turn on and use.

You can get customized light to fit your needs, every time. You can choose between natural light, white light, and warm light. It has slide dimming so you can go from dim to light with the touch of a fingertip. The light strengths include 3000, 4000, and 5000k lighting.

Since it rests on top of the monitor, you don't have to worry about having enough desk space to make it work for you. That is one problem I ran into with other lighting options. It is using a space that I am not using for anything else.

It's a touch-activated operation so you don't have to look for knobs to turn or switches to flip. The power source can be anything that supplies a USB power cord. I use the port on the back of my all-in-one computer for a convent power supply.

Using the Screen Light Bar, I can light up the whole desk area with the perfect lighting without disturbing anyone else or slighting myself. I can choose the lighting temperature with a minimal touch and dim it.

Do I have to work on the computer to use this?

That's a simple answer. No. You can use this PC light for all computer uses. For working, gaming, and a leisurely scroll through social media. You will love this light whether you are on the computer a lot or a little. Now that we are back to remote learning, it's perfect for everyone in the house.

I love this Computer monitor light and I think you will too. It's easy to use and provides great light.

I received this product for free as a gift. If you have any questions please feel free to email me directly.
