We often take great transportation for granted, but when it is something available in your local area, it improves your quality of life tremendously. You don’t have to spend hours waiting in traffic each week or at cold bus shelters waiting for the bus to come along.
Great transportation gives you options, and also means that you don’t have to necessarily own a car, reducing your bills and outgoings.
The Economy Is Good
Ideally, you want to live in an area with a thriving local economy -- a place that provides for all your material needs while also offering job opportunities to boot. Great areas tend to have good healthcare, better parkland and more job opportunities.
There Are Opportunities To Socialize
You also want to live in a place where there are plenty of opportunities to socialize. You don’t want to wind up in a situation where you feel isolated and cut off from other people.
Living in apartments with shared facilities is good for this. When you have other people around, it makes you feel more like you’re living in a community -- how human beings are meant to live.
There should also be clubs and faith communities nearby. These add extra social and spiritual dimensions to the location which can make a tremendous difference in how you reflect on an area in years to come.
The Weather Is Good Year-Round
While the prospect of living in Alaska might seem great in the summer, the winters are appalling. Not only is sunlight in short supply, but the temperatures can plummet to twenty below and stay there for weeks, making it challenging for even starting your car.
Living in southern Texas or Nevada might also seem like a great idea because of the uninterrupted sunlight and high temperatures. However, eventually, you’ll tire of it being so hot and wish you could live somewhere with a cool breeze.
You Can Easily Get Help With Chores
Single- and family-living is challenging, even at the best of times. However, when you have to work a full time job and do all your chores, it can be a bit too much.
You know you’ve found a great place to live when you can get help with chores easily. Living close to a commercial hub means that cleaners and handymen can easily travel to you.
There Are Plenty Of Amenities
While what you do in your house is important, how you spend your time outside of it can also help a great deal. Places that have plenty of amenities afford you a better standard of living and more opportunities to have fun.
