One tool that we used a lot is a caulk gun. Caulking can be used to do so many building projects. It can be used in the bathroom and kitchen around the sink, toilet, and tub. You can also use it on other projects like windows and doors. Basically, caulking is like a thick glue that dries and fills in gaps for an air-tight seal or making a waterproof seal.
I never cared much about applying caulk, I could do it BUT I always made more of a mess than anything. It's sticky and can be pretty messy if you don't have good control. It's gooey and every time I used it, no matter how careful I was with cutting the end, I got it all over my clothes not to mention everything else I wasn't planning on caulking. For some reason, the cage-like cradle with the long metal rod that moves in with every squeeze isn't something that likes me.
My stepdad is my Go-To guy to ask about household projects. He comes over and fixes everything so I don't do it. As long as I don't fix it first, it's an easier fix for him, he says. I like to think I'm a good fixer BUT that's not usually the case. I'm pretty good at making the problem a little bigger. Oops.
Those reasons are EXACTLY why I am excited to tell you about the Siligun. It's PERFECT for anyone to use caulk or silicone. There is no rod to maneuver. The Siligun caulking gun will make a great gift for anyone that likes to do projects or does construction work. Its compact size will fit in any toolbox. It's simple enough for me to use without any complications and do a good job with confidence.
My stepdad, a carpenter by trade has some really good input when it comes to tools and comparing them. His initial response when I showed him the SILIGUN:
Nut-uh, what is it really? Oh, that's so cool! Oh! I see! That's really COOL!
Its compact design is something he's never seen before (us either). It's a 4-inch holder with a comfortable grip and easy to squeeze the trigger. Loading is a breeze and only takes a few seconds.
How to load the SILIGUN
Loading the SILIGUN is so simple. The product comes with a little yellow pamphlet right on the gun with user simple directions and a QR code to scan for additional support.
Open your tube of caulk- by cutting the tip off of the tube. Cutting at a slight angle will help with guiding your caulk. Pop the seal and load the tube into the gun.
Pull back the clutch- The clutch is located under the front opening. Pulling it back expands the opening to be able to gently fit the caulk tube into the SILIGUN.
Load the gun- With the clutch pulled back, insert the tube of caulk with the back end of the tube going in first. push the tube in until it catches on the internal grip.
Using the SILIGUN
The Siligunn is SO EASY to use. Check out the short video I made using the gun. The video was my very first time experiencing it and you can see just how simple it is. With one squeeze I already had a steady bead of caulking coming out. It's so smooth and only comes out while squeezing. There was no extra oozing or anything to wipe off. It was so simple to set up and use.
Inside the SILIGUN is where all of the magic happens. There is a textured grip that holds on to the caulking tube and feeds it through the gun. The plunger is stationary and the cutting blade is fixed in place so the tube cuts as it goes. No mess! This is amazing!
