7 Ways To Support Your Favorite Charity

If you are passionate about a particular charity, you'll be keen to offer your support in any way possible.

The obvious thing to do is give money. This is something many of us do on a monthly basis, although some people make donations at particular times of the year, such as Christmas.

But if you're in a position where you need to save money, there are other things you can do to support the charity in question.

Here are some suggestions we hope you find useful.

#1: Share on social media

Share news about your favorite charity online. Post links to their website or donation page and leave an impassioned message that encourages your friends and followers to lend their support.

#2: Ask for charity donations as gifts

When people ask you what you want for Christmas or your birthday, you don't have to choose something that will directly benefit your wants or needs. Instead, you could ask friends and family members to make a donation to your chosen charity on your behalf.

#3: Organize a charity drive

Organizing a charity drive takes a bit of time and effort but this is a good way to collect clothes, toys, and other items that may have been requested by the charity you are supporting.

You could also sell items to raise money for the charity so ask people to support your efforts by donating items that could be sold at the location where the drive is being held.

#4: Put a sticker on your car

Bumper stickers are incredibly popular so chances are, you might have one already, perhaps with a funny message to make other motorists smile when you're out and about.

There are places online where you can create and print bumper stickers fast, with tailor-made messages of your choosing. You could create a sticker that advertises your chosen charity as this is one way you can bring attention to the cause when you're out in your car.

#5: Volunteer

Donating money is a great thing to do but so is donating your time. If you support a homeless charity, for example, you could work in their soup kitchen or hand out warm clothing on the streets with the support of the charity team.

If the charity has a shop that is reliant on donations, you could work in the store one or two days a week if you have the time to do so.

These are a couple of examples but consider the charity you support and the different ways in which you could volunteer your time.

#6: Launch an online fundraiser

Raising money online is easy as there are lots of fundraising sites that will let you promote your favorite cause. JustGiving is one of the most popular but a Google search will alert you to other sites that could be considered.

#7: Ask your chosen charity for ideas

The charity you are supporting will be appreciative of your help. But the best way to support them is to talk to them directly.

They will let you know of other ways in which you can fundraise and alert you to events they are holding that you could attend or invite other people to. They might also provide you with donation boxes and promotional material to aid you with your own efforts.

These are just some of the ways to support your favorite charity but if you have any ideas of your own, please leave us a comment below with your suggestions.
