Amy's Amazon Products- I Review. Honest, Unbiased, to the Point Reviews.

Amazon has done it once again. They updated TOS and stopped bloggers or anyone for that matter from posting reviews on products that were received for free or at a discount, in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

I have written over 1,000 Amazon reviews and have followed the guidelines 100% and have still been "Purged" of over 500 of those reviews. That might not seem like a big deal but I have 100's of hours invested in those reviews that I will not be able to get back and feel like I have been completely ripped off.

I have read so many posts on the reasons why. Some saying that it's the Amazon Review Groups causing the problems some saying that it's fake accounts writing good and bad reviews to bump up or knock down other sellers. We will never fully understand it as Amazon is a growing constantly evolving company and only wants the best for their customers.

I get that but, I don't agree with what they are doing. Since I have a family friendly blog, I will leave the vocabulary I would like to use out of this.

That being said, I still want the companies I have worked with to be able to have recognition for the partnership we have created. I find great value in the relationships I have built and would love to continue working with them.

The reviews I add into this tab will be either free or discounted in exchange for an honest, unbiased review. My opinion does not change because of how much I have spent on it.  It does not change the quality of the product. I write these reviews as honestly as I can so the hard earned dollars you spend will not be on a bad product. I want you to know how a product is, what to expect, and what not to expect.

For example, If I buy a chair that is broken versus if I am given a chair that is broken- either way it is broken, I don't like it more or less because of how much I paid. Same as if I purchase an amazing pair of jeans. If I buy a great pair of jeans or am given a great pair of jeans, it's still a great pair of jeans. The amount I have paid doesn't affect how well my butt fits in it. I am hoping this will work for all of my readers.

That goes for all of the products I review. Not just Amazon. So to you, all of my readers, I appreciate you sticking around and reading my reviews. I hope they help you make the best choices in your buying. I hope I can save you the time and pain of having to find out on your own or from an unreliable source about products you are looking for.

  Thanks for stopping by :)

  1. This issue affects so many people and companies. I guess Amazon has no way to discern which reviews are legitimate. I will continue to follow this situation and its developments.

  2. Wow, sorry that is happening to you and others in your position. I guess if they would actually take time to have real people read the reviews and instead of some computer program that probably flags certain users, the might be able to change; but that would require reverting back to human interactions and that's just not what they do.

  3. I feel your pain, I have written hundreds of reviews and I am honest; if it's crap it's crap. You can't put lipstick on a pig and quite frankly I would expected no less from the reviews I read for the products I consider purchasing! I understand they wanted to weed out those reviews that sellers padded cash and writers never received actual products. It's a darn shame that they don't realize at amazon that there are ways around it and I see many groups trying it out on facebook sadly making the rest of us who are doing legitimate work look bad!

  5. I have been going through review withdrawl since it happened. It is just another way for them to get money out of the sellers and use their own reviewers.

  6. Sorry this happen! We need more human contact than just the computer running the business anymore. I'd rather hear great reviews from honest hard working/caring people instead of some of the fake ones I see that look like a computer spit them out "cause it's repeated word for word on other product's pretending to be so and so". Junk is junk and if you spend your money then you have a right to complain and give a honest review an even demand your money back.

  8. This exact same thing happened to me. I may not had done as many as you did but I still feel ripped off of the time I spent writing these reviews. I feel like Amazon should not have taken down reviews done in the past that followed the rules at the time but just in the future not allow it. I understand why they did it but it wasn't fair the way they did to the companies or the legit reviewers.

  9. Amazon has also now decided if you get an item at a discount or for free you can't leave more than 4 post/week for these items. So if you haven't read the new rules check them out before you submit a review or you will lose it:( I feel every ones pain I lost over 700.
