The first thing that you’re going to need is swimming costumes. Every member of the family has got to have one, and it’s vital that you remember to pack them. It’s absolutely imperative that you have sunscreen in your bag. There is no way that you’re going to survive an entire beach holiday without it, and you shouldn’t even try because things can go downhill fast. If your kids get sunburn, then they aren’t going to want to go outside anymore because it hurts, and you’re going to feel awful for forgetting the sunscreen. Also, when choosing what kind you want to purchase, think about whether you want to use chemical sunscreen or another kind depending on your skin.
You don’t want your family to be miserable and sunburnt when the holiday is over, you want everyone to have had an amazing time. This is only going to happen if they’re all healthy, the same way they were when you arrived.
Activities!
Finally, the beach can get a little boring for kids once they’ve been in the ocean. They’re not going to want to sit and read a book or get a tan, so you need to pack things for them to do. The classic bucket and spade is an excellent idea so that they can build sandcastles. You could even have a competition to see who can build the best castle!
Bring an inflatable beach ball that everyone can play with while you’re there for something that the whole family can get involved with. There could also be other families on the beach who want to join you, and if this is okay with you, then there is no reason not to. You could make some new friends, and your kids could have some other kids to play with while you are on your holiday.
Or, you could see if your kids wanted to go searching for seashells and other cool objects that they can find. It’s always fun to see what new and exciting things they can discover, and it gives them something to bring home with them as well.
