That being said, that's why house warming parties are so amazing! Having a little party so everyone can see your new home and all bring a little gift of a household item, it is so much fun and it saves so much money for the person that just moved in.
My mom's trademark gift is the necessity bundle. She always gets things like a broom, dustpan, mop, dish rack, laundry hamper, dish sponges, foil, and plastic wrap. Those are the kinds of things that seem like they just grew there. Stuff that you don't really think about having they are just always there. But, let me tell you from first-hand experience, it's the last stuff I think about when moving. I am usually more focused on who is going to carry all of the boxes to the rooms they belong in and unpack it all. I think about that so much because it's always me!! UGH!
