Back To School Shopping: Cheaper And Easier

Since we have four amazing kids that need new items for a coming new school year, today Aron and I going to share a few tips how to shop much cheaper for all back to school essentials. These tips are super easy to use and it won’t add additional time or effort. So use it as an inspiration and prepare your kids for school much cheaper and easier too!

Using voucher codes is a great way to save money and make the list feel a little smaller. Check out The Ministry of Deals and see the amazing deals on there.

Make a List

A list of things or clothing you need before school is a number one thing to do for parents who want to save money. So before your shopping trip, look through your inventory and make a list of things what you need to buy. The same goes with clothing too. After that, you will have a clear vision what you need to buy. Shopping with a list will also help you avoid unplanned purchases too, or purchases which you really don’t need. So a simple hand-written list will help you a lot during your shopping trip for sure!

Make a Budget

After making a list, don’t forget to make a budget for all that. This tip will help you to stay away from overspending and also will help you plan your finances too. While shopping, bring only that exact of money of your budget and shop according to it. Shopping with a clear budget in your head (and in your wallet) will help you to avoid a situation then you need to go shopping for supplies again and again, because you didn’t bring enough money. With a specific amount of dollars in mind, you will try to fit it no matter what. Of course, make a reasonable budget which will help you to purchase everything too.

Clarify Needs And Wishes

If your kids are begging you to buy new bag pack, but you see that it is still at excellent quality, don’t buy it just because your child wishes for it. You need to explain that sometimes needs are prior to wishes and money is not so easy to earn. On the other hand, if your child begs you for a new bag pack that is old and too small for kids needs, then buy a new one. It is all matters if you made that inventory or not. That is how you can gently fight back your children’s nagging and save money on unnecessary stuff.

Coupons

One of the easiest and effortless ways to shop is to use various coupons. There are a bunch of it everywhere and they all will help you out while purchasing everything from bag packs to simple supplies. You can get it online or in your newspapers, but online coupons are definitely easier to use. So look for special websites and do it! For instance, at Target you can not only equip your kid for school but also save a great deal of money with Target online coupons. You won’t even need to leave your home while shopping and it will ease your whole shopping experience too. So definitely consider coupons as one great way to shop cheaper.

Shop During Sales Or Clearances

Well, and finally, shopping during sales or clearances then the season is soon going to end will save you cash and effort as well. Look for all items you wish to buy and wait until there are a huge discount on it after a month or two after school year’s start. At that time, stores tend to sell all stuff they didn’t manage to sell during the season, so prices are as low as ever. Definitely use that and get everything you need for school.

  1. Not giving in to the requests for new backpacks and lunch bags when we have 3 or 4 in the house that are in really good shape is a challenge for me. I know how much fun it is to have something new.

  2. I agree with Jayne. Seems like every year my kids all want new backpacks, new calculators, new everything. This year we are laying all of it out, I am capping the dollars each can spend, and they can use old things to save up their money for other items.
