Who has a teen driver? A preteen coming up on driving? Do you wonder how they drive when you aren't with him or her? I know I have so many questions to come. Where did you go? Are any lights on in the dash? does the horn work? Are you wearing your seat belt? Is your phone in the holder? Your not talking and driving are you?
There are SO many things that I already worry about and were still 17 months, and a day away from the sweet 16 marker. I love her so much is why I worry. So here it is. Incentives. This will help me to know without the 100 questions, I will easily be able to lower it to about 20.
How this works is... It has an app! No one leaves home without their phone; Especially the kiddos. So you know its easy to use. No extra devices, clips, plugs or contraptions. It turns on when the vehicle gets up to 20 miles per hour. That is awesome for me because even as a passenger, I will now how shes doing.
Speeding is a big No No. Not only does it endanger her life, it endangers those lives around her. Whether it's going 35 mph in a school zone or 90 mph on the free way, you and your kid will know. No secrets. Guess what it's awesome, I will know if she turns it off. Oh ya, that's what I love to hear. A silent partner that will spill the beans! My new BFF!!!
I don't want my daughter to feel like I don't trust her, I do trust her but, I also know that learning to drive and being a successful part of society takes time and practice, lots of practice. This will help me comfortably help her make that transition.
As a bonus, she can earn rewards for being a great driver and following the rules. What new driver wants that??!! ALL OF THEM. Other features that it offers are Controlled Acceleration and 24/7 monitoring.
I have came a long way from my parents approach, you break it, you buy it. You break it too bad, ride the bus. This monitor will help us keep an eye on her strengths as well as her weakness to let her become her fullest potential.
With Road Points, they can learn responsibility and on the plus side, earn something o show for it. I have always believed in rewarding exceptional behavior. I don't want to feel like I am paying her to learn what everyone has to learn but fact of the matter, their safety is priceless to me. I couldn't put a dollar amount on keeping them safe. That's why I think this a great program for any new driver and any new drivers' parents.

ReplyDeleteI just downloaded this the other day! My daughter got her drivers permit last weekend, so it will definitely come in handy!
ReplyDeleteI have a teen but he has no interest in driving at this time. Hard to believe. My oldest couldn't wait.
ReplyDeleteI would like to get to know this system. It sounds like something that I really could use.
ReplyDeleteThis is good for the teens
ReplyDeleteThankfully my daughter is only 4! This is such a great ideal and hoping they have stuff like this for when she starts driving.
