4 Unconventional Super Easy Non-Banking Ways To Save Money

What do you do to save money? Do you have a plan? I know it's sad to admit but, I don't have a plan yet. I have been trying to figure it out for awhile now but being a business owner, it's hard to find the extra cash to stash it back.

What kind of ideas have you heard? There has been so many. These are some of the ones I have heard. Although they are all great ideas, I have never been able to do it. and commit fully. I am trying at 2 of them currently.

A few of them were during various jobs so that's why the ideas are so different. I was a single mom in my waitress days. So having a big picture plan was a little too far out of reach. I didn't have a 401K or any other investments to work with.

An idea for daily earner server or hostess.

The big idea for this was to put up $5 a day that I worked. Since waitressing can be very unpredictable, and $2.13 per hour isn't really a countable pay check, it's a good idea to put it up every day so then that way on the days that I was off, I would still be able to function.

I used my bills as my guide. I would add them all up rent, car payment, car insurance, electric bill, phone bill, etc. For the sake of this post I am going to call it $1200.

Count the days of work that I was scheduled to work and minus 1. I usually worked 5 days a week so, I would use 4. That way I could find out what I would need to make as a minimum every single day. So that would give me 20 days of work.

My $50 weekly pay check was $200 a month.

My break down was this: $1200 in bills, $200 in pay checks, $1,000 to come up with.

I had to make $50 a day to pay my bills. Any thing over that was diapers, formula, groceries, gas, and what ever else. I still had that 1 extra day that wasn't counted in my work days too. The places I worked usually ended up being 6 or 7 days a week because of call ins but it was extra cash in my pocket.

Because of the unpredictable days of cash flow, that $5 a day sometimes was the difference between diapers and no diapers. I was not able to commit to that plan.

A plan for a weekly earner, example my home healthcare job .

This is a great idea but I wasn't able to follow through with it either.

It's very simple. Start with this week. On pay day take $1 and put it away. Next week $2, next put up $3, the next week $4, the next week $5, by week 26 you will be at $351. That doesn't seem to be a whole lot. By week 40, you're all the way up to $820 a $52 week year. The total at the end of the year is $1,378.

One thing that worked for me

Another way to save money that I have been able to accomplish is saving all of my change and all of the $1's we have. Most of our cash is through the bank with debit cards and stuff so when we do have cash-cash not debit card-cash, we put up all of out $1 and change. Last year Aron got the PS4, a game, controller, and some other stuff just in ones. The lady at Walmart suspended our order and sent us to customer service. She didn't want to count out $500+ in ones.

The Newest, Coolest, Idea

As far as real savings and a plan for retirement is something I have never been able to figure out. So when I saw an App that made sense and is was easy to understand, I knew I had to try it. If nothing else, I could say I tried.

How awesome would it be if when you went out to dinner you could have $5 put into a savings account? That's the concept of this App. Clink. That's how I understand it anyway.

It's saving made so easy. It's almost the same as tipping yourself. You leave a tip for your server, leave a tip for yourself. Build the money you want to invest, with money you aren't going to miss. You can set it up to save every time you shop if you want to.

I think that's such a great idea. I would not miss $5 every time I went to the store for something.

This isn't like a regular banking type of investment. It is what I want to save, when I want to save. I don't have to invest $3,500 a year or get penalized. I don't have $3,500 to invest every year. Not yet anyway.

I was offered a review of an App that is exactly what I was looking for. Of all of the ideas I have heard of, this one would be the easiest.

The Clink App is Free to Download. How much better does that get? All of the opinions are mine alone. I do recommend doing research on your own before trying any of these options to make sure you find the best fit possible for you and your budget.

How do any of these sound to you? Would you ba able to fit any of them in? If you have any more ideas feel free to email me directly at [email protected]
