I am so happy to be working with Mom It Forward Blogger Network, Pear and US Cellular to help Not For Profit Organizations and groups to get the funding they need. This is going to be amazing!!
My goal is to Pear for my daughters marching band. It's the MHS Marching Band. They are lacking the funding. So much of the funding comes from parents and many of the parents are not able to help much, if at all. They are an amazing band and have the heart of a lion.
They travel with the football for now and are planning to travel with the other sports teams in the coming year. This is a great experience for all of the kids. It makes me so sad to think that they will be missing parts of the experience do to lack of funding.
What Pear is, is a social engagement platform that helps groups earn sponsorships from local and national brands for free. We just started the Murphy High School Marching Band Pear last night and have already earned over $100 in less than 12 hours. We could potentially reach our goal in half of the allotted time at that rate!

There is no catch. No buying in. Basically how it works is sponsors have money to donate and they they don't know where or how to donate it. Pear is the middle man in making all of the magic happen. Pear helps sponsors find the group that are in need of help.
About Pear:
Pear is a social engagement platform that helps groups earn sponsorships from local and national brands – for free. Launched in 2012, Pear began as a product launched by Apparel Media Group and is now a subsidiary of CustomInk, a more than 1,000-person company providing custom apparel and related solutions to millions of groups and occasions. Pear is passionate about fostering real, win-win relationships between grassroots groups and events, brands and businesses nationwide. For more information, visit www.PearUp.com.
What it is:
- Pear is a social engagement platform that helps groups earn sponsorships from brands – for free.
- Pear matches up sponsors with groups and organizations within the community.
- The mission is to make sponsorship simple and easy for both parties.
- U.S. Cellular is offering $300,000 to sponsor youth and high school groups across the country by providing custom apparel or a donation.
- There is no catch – U.S. Cellular simply wants to generate goodwill in communities applicable for youth and high schools. This includes coaches, volunteers, group activities, school teams and clubs, and Booster or PTA organizations.
How it works:
- Sponsors have money to donate, but they don’t always know how or where to donate it.
- Pear works as the middleman to help connect sponsors and groups in need.
- Pear helps the group leader create a Pear, and the group leader invites others to join.
- A dedicated community manager at Pear will help groups get the most money from their Pear.
- Groups earn sponsorship money by creating a Pear for their group and sharing with others who complete digital incentives to earn more money.
- Each group can earn up to $1,000 within a 10-day time frame.
- That $1,000 can be used toward custom apparel or can simply be a donation to the group
- Each team member completes digital steps on behalf of U.S. Cellular to earn dollars – things like liking U.S. Cellular on Facebook, signing up for an email, or answering some survey questions.
- For every step team members complete, they’ll get dollars towards their goal.
- The more tasks you complete, the more dollars you earn for your sponsorship.
- At the end of the 10-day period, group leaders claim an online certificate for the amount earned redeemable at any Pear printer or a check will be made out to the individual responsible for handing financials for the soccer team or organization.
- You get to keep whatever amount you earn.
- It’s completely free to participate.
- It’s zero cost to you, and no are donations required.
- So far, there are 30,000 participants and 800 Pears.
The fine print:
- Sponsorship available to K-12 groups and adult groups in support of a K-12 group. Not available to adult only, college, religious or political groups.
- The group award is paid out by Pear only to registered non-profit groups with a valid W9.
- Award redemption instructions are provided with each Pear Sponsorship certificate (which you'll receive via the site upon completion of your sponsorship) -- 10 days or sooner if you choose to wrap up early. Please allow up to 30 days for redemption.
- Typical turnaround time for issuance of sponsorship awards for this program is one week.
- Sponsorship award value may be paid via check directly to team or league organizations only, with proper (W-9 or EIN) validation -- checks will not be issued to individuals.
- There is a limit of one sponsorship per group; the program is only valid for groups who have not already completed a U.S. Cellular sponsorship on Pear and have not had a Pear with another wireless provider Pear program in the last 60 days
What all of this means is you can earn money for the kids and what they really need, for free, just with your social networks. It's an amazing opportunity!
The amazing sponsor for this campaign US Cellular.
