Twitter Party~ Giveaway Announcement

Independence can be so many things. Thinking about it from a toddlers point of view and seeing the world from such a small set of legs can be difficult at times. When polling my family, friends, and colleagues, not many of them remember being so small.

I do remember my daughters being that small and now my nieces and nephews are that small. I love being the person my little sister calls for some advice. I am so proud of her success as a mommy and as an adult but, in my eyes, she will always be the size of her 3 year old daughter. It's so hard to believe that my baby sister is all grown up and a mommy of such amazing little guys of her own.

So many things come to mind when thinking about potty training. One of my favorite parts were my daughter running to me giggling with her potty chair. Yes it was a disaster and it happened almost every time she went.

If you can take a second to imagine with me, a tiny blonde haired girl with big blue eyes, stumble running with a plastic potty chair that was almost twice her width to share her accomplishment. 4 out of 5 times the only proof was the trail of splashes on the tile.

We tried so hard to explain the chair has to stay on the floor and in it's special place. The only people that needed to carry it was mommy and daddy. She always said "Ok Mama- Potty Here" with a huge smile. What would seem like a moment later, she she comes with the chair.

We didn't want her to think anything negative about her training. It is a huge milestone in her life. She was turning independent and was showing us that she could do it on her own. It was such a bitter sweet moment. She was learning to take care of herself.

It was so cute to see her try so hard to squeeze out anything she could in efforts to earn the -nemees (M&M's). One M&M for a tinkle and a handful (maybe 3 with her little hands) if she made Bo-Bo's. I still have no idea why she called poop Bo-Bo's (pronounced bow bows) but, it turned into a house hold name and cheer.

Although that was a very entertaining time; such an adventure to say the least. There were lots of behind the scenes adventure that wasn't so fun. Like the accidents and melt downs because she couldn't get to her potty. The frustration of not being able to pull up her panties without them rolling up. Waking up from nap time with a wet spot. "Peep on my blankie".

It can be a little overwhelming at times. Trying to make sure she didn't see my frustration and encourage her success was a task but we did it. There are so many awesome and helpful resources out there. Have you heard of Pampers EasyUps? They are an amazing asset in the potty training stage.

They are so much like big kid underoo's and are easy to pull up and down and really take a lot of the guess work out. The leak protection in superior to leading competitors. Whether it is daytime, playtime, nap time, on the road or over night; accidents are not a disappointment. To top it all off, we didn't have to go back to the "Baby Diaper" for those stretches in time we questioned her progress.

I love the features in the Easy Ups. They feel more like underwear than a bulky diaper and really get the little guys used to the feeling of not being weighted down. One of the things I loved was not having to worry about the over nights. We were a cheering squad with clapping and singing on the over nights that were dry with an immediate trip to the potty.

  1. I don't know what happened to my comment on this earlier!! I used diaper service with my first baby, but for the next 3 it was Pampers & products all the way! Moms now-a-days, have more conveniences than I did! And more coupons & savings! This is great!
