SofterThan Brittle Baking Challenge- Better Than Brittle Cookies

I just want to let you know how hard it is to make cookies when you eat the ingredients before you make the batter. We just had the opportunity to work with one of the best snack brands I have ever tried. When I say that, it's not because I was influenced in any way. Believe me, getting a free bag of snacks isn't going to persuade me to talk it up unless I really mean it.

Here at Amy & Aron's Real Life Reviews, we pass on several products that we don't think would make a great it for our readers. Bad snacks aren't something we think will resonate with our readers like a great snack will. Believe me, we love snacks. The better the snack, the more creative our brains get.

We were challenged to come up with a great baking idea inspired by Softer than Brittle. I had two things that instantly came to mind. The first was a milkshake with crunched up pieces of Softer Than Brittle. Since I can't bake a milkshake, the second idea is the winner.

Make a batch of Chocolate Chip Cookies but right before you add the chocolate chips, don't.  Add in crunched up Softer Than Brittle. It's making me so happy just writing about it. So, I'm going to do it. It's a rainy day, I have nothing going on except a rainy day, it's gonna happen.


So here's what you need- 


2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
Choice of Softer Than Brittle (Cashew, Pecan, Peanut, or Almond)



And here's what you do with it-


PREHEAT oven to 375° F.

COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture.

Stir in Softer Than Brittle pieces. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets. I had all four flavors so I divided the dough into 1/4 and added the Softer than brittle to the dough.

BAKE for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

  1. These cookies sound amazing! I have never had softer than brittle before, but it sounds delicious and perfect for me! Regular brittle is way too hard. And making cookies with them is such a brilliant idea! Thank you so much for sharing, I can't wait to try them!
