Setting up a nursery can be so tricky. Every parent wants it to be the best place for their little bundle of joy. Making it comfortable for all of the growth that will go on in there. Safety, convenience, calmness, and nurturing are just a few things that come to mind.
I love baby stuff! I love shopping for all things baby. I love decorating for all things baby. From the necessities to furniture and room decor, I think it's so much fun! I have so many readers ask for my choice of products and trusted brands.
For me, that's a tricky one. There are so many options on the market and some things are better for some situations while others work better for other situations. A perfect example of that is monitors. There are so many options for monitors. Are you looking for one that is stationary and it has it's own monitor? Are you looking for one that has WiFi capability? Are you looking for something that you can talk through to soothe baby as you get the food ready?
Have you heard of the Nanit Plus. It has every feature for an aerial view of the whole room. This will be a great investment because it will grow with your baby and with your needs. When the nursery is no longer needed, the toddler room and playroom will need it as well. It will be useful again when they grow into teenagers and start dating. Take my word for it!
A staple for a nursery is a chair. A recliner or a rocker would be my first pick. Somewhere comfortable the baby and parents can relax together. It's so soothing and opens up a whole new world of bonding. I loved rocking my babies to sleep. I still can't believe my first born child is an adult now! Where did the time go? How did it happen so fast?? It seems like just yesterday that she was in her very own tiny pink nursery.
Sleep Station! As your baby grows sleeping destinations will change. Stating with a bassinet, to a crib, to a toddler bed, and so on. Finding the best sleeping arrangement for your newest addition will be a priority for sure!
Something I find very convenient is the convertible beds. These provide great opportunities to invest instead of just buy and store it in case another baby comes along. You can get options that grow with your baby. Whether it's a bassinet that shifts into a crib then a toddler bed or the crib that turns into a toddler bed and then into a full-size bed.
Floor playtime is so much fun. Especially if you can sneak in a little nap to go with it. Finding a nice rug or floor covering makes a great accent to any nursery. Going with gender-related colors or neutral colors are great either way. Something that doesn't hold a lot of dirt would make a good choice in my opinion.
Convenience is definitely key! When planning the perfect nursery, you want to make sure everything is right where you need it. Having diapers, wipes, diaper pale, change of clothes, lotion, and all of the necessities right where you need them is a great idea.
What are your favorite nursery ideas?

It's not exactly a necessity, but I like the trend of painting murals on the nursery walls. Animals, clouds, vehicles, etc., are stimulating to little ones, I think.
